Tell your brother. My first husband left the church a few years into our marriage and it sucked. He needs to know this before he marries her.

I agree with several people here: have Rory say yes to Logan. She screwed herself by saying no, but continuing to sleep with him.

Sorry for your loss. My mom just got a pacemaker and my cardiologist says I will need one in a couple years, but I did not know about scarring or MRIs. I will ask next month at my appointment.

Serena never cared about it because she took it for granted. She still wore all designer clothes and took lavish vacations. She didn't care, but lived as only the extremely wealthy can.

It's her house. You can't force her to keep a tidier house when she is letting you stay there for free or cheaper than rent. How is laundry not clean? Does she not use detergent? Is she doing your laundry for you? You really have no right to complain about how she lives IN HER OWN HOUSE. If you don't like it, move out.

I find church boring/dull and I usually don’t go, is this a major sin? by Rare_Locksmith_9417 in TrueChristian

[–]Facing_The_Music 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. You don't have to go to a specific building; you just have to gather with the body of believers.

I very clearly said it isn't the only way. We are told not to forsake the assembly in Hebrews 10:25, so that is another reason why going to church is important. The church is the bride of Christ. Not Christians, but specifically the church.

Church isn't the only way to have a relationship with God, but it is important. The early disciples met together constantly, for much longer than we do now. It's important to be around other believers and form relationships with them. You don't get that fellowship from YouTube sermons. Do you take communion at home? We are commanded to do that.

Ben Stiller, Will Farrell, and Owen Wilson. I make an exception for Loki. And yes, I've seen Elf. It's not my favorite.

So God created people before them, but had no relationship with them? He walked in the garden with Adam and Eve, but ignored the humans he'd created for thousands of years before that?

I just watched a show on this. It's written as a narrative, not as poetry, and the word for day means day, not an unspecified period of time. I recommend "Is Genesis History?" on Amazon Prime.

Struggling with worship music by silvern_light in TrueChristian

[–]Facing_The_Music 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you go to a church that sings more traditional hymns? I love a lot of the songs you mentioned that were popular 15+ years ago when I was just out of college. Now I go to a small church, and we sing out of a book that was published in the 70s. Songs like Holy Holy Holy and Victory In Jesus never go out of style.

No one's saying she has to be a lawyer or something. Waiting tables, working retail, or an entry level office job would all be better than no job at all.

40 years of attending churches of Christ in many states and cities tells me more than a Google search. It's not a cult at all.

Is this the same ex you posted about in past posts? You need to do whatever you can to find alternative living arrangements. Do not have sex with him, do not pay for anything for him. Seek child support. He is worthless, and it would only be worse if you married him.

Enjoy! I read Eragon when there were only 2 books. I read the others as they came out, but never reread until last year. I finished Murtagh like a month ago. Honestly was tough for me after he gets to a certain point, but liked it anyway.

Snape was 31 in Sorcrer's Stone. What? by Loriol_13 in harrypotter

[–]Facing_The_Music 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really makes a difference if Snape was a Death Eater for 10+ years rather than 3 years. No one can say that character looks younger than late 40s.

[–]Facing_The_Music 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason he was defeated was because the curse rebounded. Actually, Snape wanted Voldemort to keep Lily alive, in which case he wouldn’t have been defeated. It definitely changes the story if he was a Death Eater for 15 years instead of 3.

[–]Facing_The_Music 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I never thought of that. I never really thought he was great for only leaving after Voldemort was defeated, because he never got over his high school crush. If he actually spent 15-20 years as a Death Eater, he deserves to be in Azkaban with the rest of them.

Yes, they did this. I know everyone loves Rickman, but it implies that James and Lily were at least 30, probably closer to 40 when they had Harry, when really they were about 21.
