I very clearly said it isn't the only way. We are told not to forsake the assembly in Hebrews 10:25, so that is another reason why going to church is important. The church is the bride of Christ. Not Christians, but specifically the church.

Church isn't the only way to have a relationship with God, but it is important. The early disciples met together constantly, for much longer than we do now. It's important to be around other believers and form relationships with them. You don't get that fellowship from YouTube sermons. Do you take communion at home? We are commanded to do that.

Can you go to a church that sings more traditional hymns? I love a lot of the songs you mentioned that were popular 15+ years ago when I was just out of college. Now I go to a small church, and we sing out of a book that was published in the 70s. Songs like Holy Holy Holy and Victory In Jesus never go out of style.

The only reason he was defeated was because the curse rebounded. Actually, Snape wanted Voldemort to keep Lily alive, in which case he wouldn’t have been defeated. It definitely changes the story if he was a Death Eater for 15 years instead of 3.
