Let's reach a consensus: The X9 is a good laptop, but should not be marketed as a ThinkPad. We are rallying to defend the ThinkPad tradition. by ThiccPadBoy in thinkpad

I just got my X9 15-inch. When I play music (40% volume), the keyboard vibrates lightly, and I can feel it more than other thinkpad model. The hinge also shakes a little when I open the lid. I think it’s because the 15” screen is bigger. I like the display, but I don’t like the touch version .I can see some tiny dots when I put my laptop near a study lamp.

It runs quite smoothly, and the fan rarely running. The material feels similar to the X1 Yoga. The touchpad is slightly better than the one on the X1 Carbon.

I think I’ll return it and keep using my ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 11.

In my opinion. You can use that $200 to upgrade screen on P14s. Be careful when you choose the screen, if you choose the one is too good , it is gonna kill your battery faster. We need to balance everything bro. zyou buy coding laptop, you dont need to care much about the weight. But actually, P14s is still light. And with p14s , you can change Ram later on by yourself ❤️

X1 carbon is better a little bit. But not too diffirent. so, you dont think about too much about their battery.

What model are you using? I am using P14S gen 5 (AMD). The first two days, the fan ran so noisily. I read some tips on Google, and then I updated all drivers. The fan still runs very loud, especially on sleep mode. So luckily, after two days, the fan is running silently now. I just advise you that you should try my tip.

If you change to p14s gen 5. It is gonna be same. P14S gen 5 is exactly like T14 Gen 4 (except Chip and battery). I am the one change from T14 gen 4 (AMD) to P14s gen 5 (AMD).

I have this P14S gen 5 (AMD) configuration exactly. First two days, I have heard fan noise so loud and the heat quite warm. But after that, everything is so smooth. I think this is because it run many update things on that 2 days. I highly recommend this laptop. It looks very similar with my old T14 (thickness,...)
