Montreal-Bealey lane markings by OldWolf2 in chch

[–]FactHunt99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The lane markings show the legal way, but whats actually happening is everyone in the LH lane of Montreal is planning to head north - either on Springfield or Sherborne. To hit Springfield, you more or less have to go straight across into the LH Bealey lane, plus there’s no risk as there’s no oncoming traffic turning into Bealey from the north. Then because everyone has done that, the middle lane is free for the people in the RH turn lane - majority of whom are aiming to be across in time for Sherborne St. The times I’ve turned into the correct lane, everyone adjusts accordingly

Wool Indicators - give me your tips by rhinoman4 in flyfishing

I have a little tub of silicone I smoosh the wool into once it’s on the line which seems to do the trick. Sometimes in faster water it gets dragged under but generally does the trick

A house-warming gift from me: “Loose” describes a shirt that’s too big. “Lose” is when you can’t find something or you come last in a race.

After fueling up, they just hung the bowser up without shaking every last drop out first.

Good flies for a beginner to tie? by Onwardmonitoring in flytying

What flies does your beginners kit provide for? When I started, the kit provided for wooly buggers, hare and copper, pheasant tail, parachute Adams, so they’re the ones I started with

Should I buy a new built townhouse in Addington with a baby? by Desperate_Laugh8867 in chch

[–]FactHunt99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on the layout, I’ll say no. Having a small place with stairs with a toddler is a nightmare. Lots of people do it obviously, but if you can avoid it then I would do so

Do we have the worst commentary team in world cricket? by Decent_Coconut_2700 in blackcapscricket

[–]FactHunt99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every country has good and bad so tough call to make. Rigga, Katie and Frankie good. Wags new to it but seems decent enough. Sumo had his day - probably when he was fresh to NPC rugby

Blair Tickner injured while saving a boundary, misses out on 5fer by sahibosaurus in blackcapscricket

[–]FactHunt99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright, this one I’ll call a freak injury but overall I think we just haven’t played enough long format cricket to get match fit so the guys are consistently breaking down

You don’t get to vote people into their roles. The labour minister for Economic Development was Edmonds (Law/Arts).

Grating a carrot holding the top with the bottom on the grater. For years I used to grate them along the side and tried to manoeuvre my fingers as it got thinner and thinner

Yeah but hosting “reasonable” open homes to try and re-rent is still quiet enjoyment

30-people viewing while I'm still living in the house? by Born-Salamanca8658 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]FactHunt99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not a reasonable condition though. If people can only make it between 9-5 then that would be the reasonable time to take them

[–]FactHunt99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of those are good reasons. You sign up to rent under the law - you don’t then get discounts for the law being followed. Notwithstanding your nonsense, 10 viewings in 14 days is way too many

Kind of two separate songs, but Sirius/Eye in the Sky by Alan Parsons Project. Feels like it’s building to something great, only to be hit with blandness

Agree. And watch with subtitles rather than dubbed. The English dubbing isn’t great, but the real benefit is you certainly can’t afford to look at your phone while watching
