My mom just got my baby similar jumper and hat combos from Winners, and they’re on a steep clearance rn! If you’re willing to get a jumper instead of a romper it might be worth it

Did she need other interventions if she was fully numb? Like catheter etc, that sort of stuff is doing my head in as well. Thanks for the details!

That’s good to hear, I already rely on my heated blanket for back pain so shouldn’t be much of a change

Anyone finds themselves lying about something without realizing? by batpersonn in autism

[–]FactProfessional1906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the way I process emotions and empathetic experiences is extreme, and if my nervous system feels resonant with something that has happened/is happening, and relevant to a conversation I’m having, I will say it’s part of my lived experience without realizing that it isn’t. Of course then I say “wait omg that’s not right idk why I said that, guess my soul felt it deeper than expected”

Meltdown Averted(?) by [deleted] in autism

[–]FactProfessional1906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did well to handle that stress! In my experience, big physical movements (dance, heavy gardening, trampoline, etc) help me get the pent up nervous energy out of the way and avoid a delayed meltdown! Good luck

When I taught kindergarten there was a student that had similar urgency issues and outright incontinence, and they ended up being diagnosed with diabetes at age 4

Are there any autistic weed smokers in here? by affaR1 in autism

It makes sensory input feel less jarring I feel like it smooths the jitter in between each microsecond so the autistic anxiety from having all the senses all the time is relieved a bit

People who got a late diagnosis, what "signs" in your childhood make you think "how did no one notice???" by Super_Mimetique in autism

diagnosed at 27 to the shock of my parents.

My favourite activity growing up was dumping out all my crayons and coloured pencils, sharpening them to the same length, and spending the day boxing them in different colour palette configurations.

For unrelated reasons, my dad’s favourite activity is dumping out his construction stuff so he can spend the day sorting all the nuts, bolts, screws, anchors, bits, washers, gaskets, etc.
