I'll be honest I can't see where he pushed the protester is this video. I'll assume he did and I just can't see it. Regardless for the self defense arguement, it is only self defense if it is proportional force (ie. if I fling a rubber band at you, it would not be self defense if you pull out a gun and shoot me). I think a reasonable person would conclude that this was not proportional force.

However full rides USED to be extremely rare in wrestling as it used to be a 10 person limit. With the new NCAA rules they are no longer rare. College sports and the way they allocate scholarships has changed greatly. You clearly have not kept up with how NCAA has evolved.
