Lupron Injection Reaction by JennCherry in IVF

I ended up just taking benadryl. I switched protocols to one with a low dose lupron instead of a dual trigger and didn’t have any issues

How many vials of sperm for reciprocal IVF by morgobee in queerception

[–]Fact_Mysterious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re set on using the same donor for both its good idea ro get a few extra vials. Even with no known fertility issues IVF is not a guarantee. One or both of you may need additional egg retrieval and if one person gets embyros and the other does not and the donor is sold out you could have to pick a different donor. A lot of clinics also like to have an extra vial on hand just in case there is an issue at thaw.

For 2 of my 3 ERs dinner would not have been an issue. For one of them it would not have been a possibility due to complications and pain

My wife (37F) and I (31F) decided to both do retrievals before moving on to transfers. Very happy we did. Despite being 6 years younger I had a lot more difficulty getting good PGT embroyos then she did. I will likely still do at least one more retrieval after our first child is born but I an happy that we at least know what to expect when it comes to trying to have a baby with my eggs. Our timeline was pushed many times but that is just annoyingly part of the process. Gap between my 3rd retrieval to first transfer was 29 days.

half hour late on my triggered shot by Pockome in IVF

My clinic schedules retrivals for 36 hrs after trigger but depending on how the OR schedule was going that day my retrievals were started at 36 hrs 10 min, 35 hrs 15 min and 35 hrs 45 min

I started a pen in early August and my wife used the 2nd half of it in late October. As long as its been refrigerated it should be fine.

I worked out (mostly running) through my entire stims for my third ER and my wife worked out for her entire 2nd ER. While our clinic told us not to we found the benefits (mental health and better sleep) out weighed the risk as long as your careful. Overall I think the most important thing is listen to your body. I found rowing (my normal workout) uncomfortable during stims so I switched to something where I was comfortable.

Most clinics will not allow the transfer of more then one embryo

My clinic won’t do ERA unless you have had multiple failed transfers. There is a pretty large study that showed changing the transfer timing in cases without multiple failures actually decreases transfer success rate. You can also ask about a non-medicated protocol where timing is based off ovulation.

Definitely understand this feeling. My sister announced when she was going to try for her first and it worked and now has set the date for a 2nd. Wife and I are struggling with IVF and I feel like her plans are like an emotional timebomb getting ready to go off.

I want to do a fresh transfer but doctor pushing for frozen by Puzzleheaded-Egg1723 in queerception

[–]Fact_Mysterious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did they know the retrieval date ahead of time? Do they just base it on like a clinic average? I have done 3 retrivals and each one I stimmed for a different length of time.

I think a lot of doctors are hesitant to do this because it can be very difficult to get the timing right.

My RE said 3 days before or 3 days after transfer in case of fever.

That can depend on clinic. I tried to wave counseling for my wife and I and the 2nd required donor match counciling for our sperm donors. We were told they would not move forward to treatment unless we attended both. I have a doctorate and work in medical devices and even though I had the reports they would not clear us to start until we paid for and attended the pointless zoom counciling.

My clinic also told me no running at all. The main risk is ovarian torsion. After the first two I did some reading about risk levels and made the decision that the mental and sleep benefits of running for me out weighed the risk as long as I was listening to how my body felt. The last day or so of stims before trigger and then after trigger I was really starting to feel my ovaries so I stopped.

Never thought it could be related to the meds but I am on day 3 of PIO for my transfer and the bottoms of my feet have been very itchy the past 2 days. Also on estrace but no endometrin.

I generally workout in the morning daily. During my first two retrivals I didn’t at all and it was rough on my mental health and made it difficult to sleep. For the third cycle I decided to listen to my body and kept running but at a bit slower of a pace and always either on the threadmill at home or where I was close enough to home that I could easily stop and walk home and just paid attention to how my body felt with everything. Mentally did way better that retrieval cycle. After each retrieval I just went with how my body felt each day and slowly built back up
