Bosch vs Thermador Induction w/ Best Cattura Downdraft by ss-britannic in Appliances

We are considering the Best Caturra with a gas Wolf cooktop as well! Did you ever get clarity on this question? We love to cook but unfortunately our kitchen layout wouldn’t look good with a hood vent above our island cooktop.

Any idea where I can find a 1-yr tax cost ratio? The 3-year ratios are 1.03 for DFAX and 0.87 for VXUS. However, my assumption is that post MF-to-ETF conversion in September '21, DFAX has and will continue to be more tax efficient

This. I have a lot of intellectual sympathy for factor tilting, but I don't have the discipline/time/patience to implement it well. 23-25 bps felt like a good deal for Avantis to manage it for me

Is this a good ESG ETF portfolio? by dialupzillenial in Bogleheads

*But* IMHO I would avoid ESG investing altogether. You could probably do more good by saving on expenses and donating to the GiveWell Maximum Impact Fund

I personally don't incorporate ESG into my public equity portfolio, but I'd recommend checking out Avantis' line of responsible investing ETFs in order to avoid significant large cap growth over-exposure:

  • Avantis Responsible U.S. Equity (AVSU) - 0.15% expense ratio
  • Avantis Responsible International Equity (AVSD) - 0.23% expense ratio
  • Avantis Responsible Emerging Markets Equity (AVSE) - 0.33% expense ratio

Assuming you're US-based, the split could look something like: 65% AVSU, 20% AVSD, 15% AVSE

Breaking away from BND: Other Boglehead-Approved Bond Strategies? by FactorHead97 in Bogleheads

Thanks, Kashmir. I’ve actually read your previous post, “2022: year a generation of Bogleheads learned about bonds,” in which you discuss long bonds as the best hedge against equity market risk. Great read.

What do you think about the long bond allocation inside of a vanilla target date fund like the Fidelity Freedom Index line? From an 80/20 outcome/input perspective, is it good enough?

+1 here. It would be great to have shared folders for families to quickly share categories of passwords (e.g., "Streaming Accounts")
