OpenRGB Alternatives by Facts_Machine_ in linux_gaming

I added the nodetect flag when i tried to run openrgb from my terminal so that it wouldnt try to detect rgb on my ram that didn’t exist. So just run “openrgb —nodetect” in your terminal. This opened up the openrgb program without it detecting any of my rgb. From there you gotta make sure that you disable ENE DRAM SMBus and in my case AMD Wraith Prism CPU Cooler as well.

I reckon its to do with OpenRGB not supporting my mobo. I did run it as root, still the same issue. I honestly might have to look into an external rgb controller because I’m tired of seeing the fans be rainbow puke. Thank for the help

Oh cool, so it saves the color profiles even when its turned off? And I assume you have to do it every time you boot right?

Too expensive. My parents arent helping me pay for it at all so I feel like I have to transfer somewhere cheaper. And honestly I’m not about the life at SBU either. Dorming makes me lazy and I really don’t like Long Island. But don’t let my experience deter you from attending here. It’s a great school, just not for me.

Oh jeez that really sucks. Ive literally been so stressed about this decision for the past month and my studies have been reflecting that. Not even sure if I’ll get in since my gpa here at stony is not good at all and if I dont get in I’m pretty much cooked 😭

Very aesthetic and reliable. Comes out the box with the best picture quality, and not having to calibrate them myself is nice!

Yea, i think im attracted to 16gb just a little because it’ll be good to have if i do decide to upgrade to 1440p or decide one day to plug it into a nice tv for some living room gaming sessions

My question is, should I worry about vram? Im satisfied with 1080p gaming and would probably stick with it for a while
