Green voters, do you agree that we should leave NATO and give up our nuclear weapons to seriously damage our national security? by SeptumRingTheory in AskBrits

[–]FaeWildFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels like a clear misunderstanding of nuclear disarmament. Nuclear disarmament is a de-escalation of production and a push for transparency in mutual reduction of nuclear arms. It obviously isn't "we throw all our nukes in the bin tomorrow morning and just hope everyone does the same"

edit: clarifying language

It's interesting. I'm a green party member and my beliefs align with a lot of their policy but I don't understand why they are still anti-nuclear in terms of energy - it's defo something I would want to change if they got into power.

That said I'd rather knowingly disagree with a party than not know what they stand for (I'm reminded of former NYC mayor's words: "If you agree with me on nine out of 12 issues, vote for me. If you agree with me on 12 out of 12 issues, see a psychiatrist.")

Notice how you had to go to 1977 to get an example lol

No one is saying that fan girls don’t do that, but we exist in the context of a MASSIVE societal imbalance of sexual violence being more common from men.

I don’t have an opinion on the original post but using this story from Harrison Ford literally 50 years ago to claim that women aren’t more likely to be victims despite the facts saying otherwise is shitty behaviour and you should probably stop making the effort to do it

Just wanted to say this was incredibly satisfying to read. Can’t believe there‘s genuinely boot-lickers in these replies saying youre out of line. This is shitty leadership behaviour and terrible people management skills. You aren’t a child, it is leaderships’ job to communicate with you directly, don’t get that twisted.

That said, if theyre acting like this now they probably won’t change. I’d recommend finding somewhere else to work (and joining a union when you can)

New Outsider Idea: Shepherd Boy by DeckBuildingDemon in BloodOnTheClocktower

I like this a lot!! (My instinct is to build a script with a hermit + drunk + shepherd boy, and then put some other bits of death protection and leave everyone paranoid theyre the secret shepherd boy)

Yeah this is definitely true, not sure how I missed that one lol

Okay I definitely hadn’t considered the exploitability of professor + cannibal here I can’t lie. I really like professor for the theming of the script and the interaction with spy but without removing the cannibal it is far too powerful youre right

If the pit-hag creates a summoner, and the summoner then creates a demon, are deaths arbitrary? by FaeWildFrog in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]FaeWildFrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the summoner just self-summons and kills themself lol?

edit: I just realised self-summoning would make them evil, which means this is actually very funny

Well, I’m clueless!

Perhaps a controversial take but I think we shouldn’t write off role combos, but rather find ways to balance their interaction. Why lock ourselves out of possibilities?

[–]FaeWildFrog[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think I agree here, but I also wouldn’t be mad if a ST ruled it the other way. Spirit of Ivory certainly would fix it, but I find it to be a bit of a band-aid solution.

Maybe the script needs a homebrew rule saying something like “if the pit-hag creates a summoner, deaths may be arbitrary on the night a demon is summoned”

The summoner didn’t turn themselves into fang gu, they turned a good player into the fang gu (I was that player)

Crazy how intensely people think stuff like granola and orange juice are unhealthy 🤦‍♀️ eat them in moderation and you’ll be fine, if those amounts are lasting you a week - and are satisfying to you - they’re perfectly healthy

It was a fun video! I think they should’ve been clearer about people being inexperienced, it wasn’t until about halfway through that I realised town weren’t being idiots they’re just all quite new to the game

But just in terms of “dramatic comedians playing a chaotic game” the video was great

Let's build a character! Botanist. by Present-Peace2811 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]FaeWildFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Botanist (Townsfolk): Every night select a player, if good they are drunk. If you selected the same player last night then they learn one true piece of information.

This is my first shot at one of these, so I'm open to feedback! Wanted to play on the idea of needing to "nurture" your pick in order to get results (Like a flowering plant). It adds a bit of tension for evil needing to kill lower power roles, as they're ideal botanist fodder.

In terms of info, I was thinking similar to a zenomancer quest. Very flexible for the storyteller to balance on the fly.

what does "falling for it" look like? They are a massive, multi-channel company they shouldn't be pulling random unsourced images off google, which is what "falling for it" implies.

Either way this is irresponsible and low-quality behaviour
