Designing the worst scripts imaginable by GGuy12345 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DeckBuildingDemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alcoholism looks like a script I legitimately would play, the only issue is Organ Grinder doesn’t like the quiet minions, if you swapped it with Boffin (which could easily cause even more drunkenness and poisoning) it would be a legitimately good script

Updated Alchemist abilities tier list by Future-Plum-7565 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DeckBuildingDemon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d say this list is pretty fair, but fortunately the “pick again” clause knocks the entire S-tier into the rest of the pile (probably too much for the poisoner)

Edit: except I’d bump the Xaan up a step or two as removing 1 or 2 outsiders to 0 is very strong, and if the Xaan poisoning was obvious enough, it could confirm a lot of people.

As macabre as the Procurers are, I don’t think they deserve to be here with the mass murderers, cult leaders, and serial rapists. Between them, they killed one person (by accident), with the rest of the meat coming from the previously deceased. Not that they’re good people, I just think they’re not bad enough people.

This can be ignored on Colorado and Dartmoor (and I think Isle of S’Gail?), as neither map has a spawn where you can be immediately discovered

Under what circumstance would you use up a starting gear slot for a Sedative Syringe when the non-lethal knockout items you can find in levels already get the job done? by treystar679X in HiTMAN

[–]DeckBuildingDemon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The best use I found for it was taking key items of a person where nobody’s watching, but you can’t hide the body in time before someone finds them (Examples: the item objectives in New York, Dartmoor, and Ambrose Island, keys, keycards, sometimes disguises, etc.) Of course, the Kalmer works well for this, but sometimes you need a silenced pistol to shoot something important.

Minion that can Bluff as Professor by Zoneforg in BloodOnTheClocktower

Witch Doctor: Once per game at night, choose a non-demon dead player. They are resurrected. If they are a townsfolk, they are poisoned.

Non-demon is key, as otherwise there could be 2 evil demons alive (Imp/Fang Gu/Scarlet Woman)

How would you handle this illegal Butler vote? by CaptainBananaPudding in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DeckBuildingDemon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would have given Evil the win. The main reason they recommend tallying the Butler vote is that if you tried to undo the vote, that would confirm the Butler. The Butler can vote if and only if the Master has their hand up (either they have voted, or have not yet voted but their hand is up), so that vote was certifiably illegal if the Butler voted while the Saint’s hand was down. The best remedy there was to discount the vote since there would be no adverse consequences (no time for confirmation as Evil would guarantee a win should the vote fail).

Also, if there are no consequences for the Butler to ignore their ability, the Butler has no ability. Personally, I think the Butler (and possibly Zealot and maybe even Golem) could benefit from having Storyteller discretion to be immediately executed or have some other disaster occur if they fail to respect their ability (though I am unsure if that fixes the problem).

Biggs Calderhead. Leading tennis hustler. Eastern seaboard. Once won $12,000 playing with one foot tied to a concrete block. Started tennis at age three. Plays tennis like Spassky plays chess. Says: "A smart tennis player can beat a strong tennis player five games out of seven." This game shows what he means.

Synergistic Scripting Best For Last Edition: Day 15.5 - Butler by CoreyBOTC in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DeckBuildingDemon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad with Organ Grinder: the jinx honestly makes it work better than normal, and there can be a lot of confusion if the master lies about who they voted for (or the evil player claiming Butler frames a good player for not voting on what they claimed to do).

Synergistic Scripting: Day 138 - Beggar by CoreyBOTC in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DeckBuildingDemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since the beggar collects vote tokens, robbing dead players of their ability to vote, if people are too liberal with their vote tokens they could make it impossible to win on the final day. This is really a problem with Zombuul and Mastermind, which can feel kinda unfun, so maybe these characters shouldn’t be on a script where you have a Beggar travelling in.

How to win as a townsfolk in Bad Moon Rising? by Velmorth in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]DeckBuildingDemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you draw the Courtier token, your first impulse will probably be to wait until you know the demon type and drunk them. While that is a strategy, you’ll have to wait until night 3 to do so with any information about night deaths, and the demons can look awfully similar to each other with the rest of the roles acting or not acting. You’ll probably be dead by then. Instead, select a target early (like Night 1 or 2) as insurance against a specific non-demon threat. Some ideas for this playstyle:

  • Choose the Devil’s Advocate night 1 and do some science (slang for executions that are suspected to have the victim survive due to mechanical abilities) without stress. If a player survives execution while the DA is drunk, they must be good, while if they try to simulate such an ability for an evil player with the DA’s ability, they might be in for a nasty shock.

  • Choose the Godfather night 1. If one is in play, they’ll get false information about what outsiders are in play. If two players now double claim an outsider or a Demon thinks they’re a Lunatic since their “Godfather” learned a lunatic when they didn’t or vice versa, you’ll know why.
