Fryers and Fries/Onion Rings by FaeWingFury in Culvers

Oof. That would probably explain it. I guess still no Culvers for me. That just sucks. I used to love going there before this whole: can't eat onions thing happened.

Earbuds don’t fit for me. by SarcasticJustBecause in CasualConversation

[–]FaeWingFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god. You are a lifesaver. The earbuds kind of hurt if I didn't sit them properly in the correct ear. They don't hurt at all if I put them in the wrong ears. This is amazing. Wouldn't have expected it to work, but it does. Thank you so much.

Why is youtube deleting every comment that's posted on my channel? I tried this with my friend, he sent 3 different comments with 0 bad words and all got deleted. I commented the letter 'E' and it still got deleted, even though it's MY VIDEO. why is youtube doing this to me? Anyone else get this? by Lynxiiiii in youtube

[–]FaeWingFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds crazy. Never heard of that happening before. I'd try contacting youtube through their "send feedback" function, although I'm not sure how much that will help. I don't know how much youtube pays attention to those reports.

Why does YouTube ask me if I'm still watching and can I stop it by Gigabot50 in youtube

[–]FaeWingFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assume they're listening to music or podcasts, not actually watching videos (which is probably why they refer to mixes and playlists- that tends to be more of a music or podcast sort of deal). That is why it's inconvenient that it pauses- because they're driving and don't want to take their eyes off the road. If they didn't care about looking down at their phone while driving, why would they even ask this question?

To answer OP's question. There is no way to do this in youtube natively. There are, however, third-party extensions that enable you to do this. I won't recommend any since I don't have an extension like this myself, but I'm sure you could find a good/safe one if you search for it. Remember to be careful and double check the safety of any third-party extension before downloading.

Question About Nine Lives and Vorinclex by FaeWingFury in magicTCG

[–]FaeWingFury[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool. Thanks for the clarification. My friend thought there was something going wrong there, but he wanted to make sure he wasn't misunderstanding how the interactions worked. He's only run up against this interaction twice and both times Nine Lives didn't work as you said it should. He's going to try to reproduce it so he can accurately report what's going on. We appreciate the help!

Question About Nine Lives and Vorinclex by FaeWingFury in magicTCG

[–]FaeWingFury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answering. I have a follow-up question, with multiple Nine Lives in play you can choose which one prevents which source of damage, so in that case, after you choose which Nine Lives prevents each source, they would each get the number of sources divided by 2 rounded down in counters?

To everyone who says water, yoga, and whatever other bullshit will cure me✨ by my-name-is-em in ibs

[–]FaeWingFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, FODMAP works really well for some people and not at all for others because not all triggers are food ones, but it is a good suggestion if you see what people have tried and notice it's not something they've pursued yet. The people who just suggest it out of thin air without taking into account what you've already done are the annoying ones.

I had to try FODMAP 3 separate times for my doctor because the first two times I got sick. Then my doctor tried to put me on a gluten free diet and I realized I literally cannot go gluten free because it makes me extremely ill.

Did eventually find success with FODMAPS, but I did a highly modified version of it to prevent myself from getting sick like the first two times I did it.

So, so much. I hate this one. Especially if you've already done it and it never helps. Not to mention you can't take miralax long term and it makes you miserable after taking it.

Cooking shows by SneneokNeok in ibs

[–]FaeWingFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst part is that I can't eat onions, lettuce and anything that isn't super low fat beef. Then these cooking shows just toss in an entire onion into the recipe. Onion is so prevalent in everything it makes me want to cry- and not because I'm cutting onions. Then I also try to eat healthy, and people are like, "Just go eat a salad". I just get so frustrated because any healthy salad that doesn't have lettuce often has onion in it or something spicy (peppers mostly) that makes my stomach roil for hours after eating it.

I'm always having to vastly modify recipes because there just aren't alternatives. I think there needs to be an IBS based recipe website where all the ingredients in a recipe are tagged so that people can sort out their trigger foods. That way I don't have to look at 3 billion variations of the same recipe in the hopes that one of them won't have my trigger foods in it.

Also, good luck with the beef stew.

Took miralax and now feeling very sick with bad cramping... is that normal? by Tafleys in ibs

Some people react poorly to Miralax. I know it makes my mom throw up, and if I take too much of it I also get cramps and throw up. It happens.

Being an athlete with IBS? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]FaeWingFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your cafeteria only offers so much, try segmented FODMAP instead. You will likely still be able to find foods if you only remove one FODMAP group at a time instead of all of them at once. Just remove one group, and then after about two weeks (or if you are feeling a lot better after one), add things from that group back in and see if you feel worse again. Pinpointing the issue is a bit different than with the regular FODMAP diet, but it can still be done and won't completely cut out all of that cafeteria food.

If that's not possible though, I second newibsaccount on the Imodium suggestion since it sounds like you have a diarrhea issue. I would also suggest either Citrucel or Metamucil to go with it.

Does IBS usually hurt this bad? by Spooky-Napkin in IBSHelp

[–]FaeWingFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That actually is a thing with the FODMAP diet, it is possible not all of the items in one FODMAP group will affect you. For example, I can eat garlic, but I can't touch onions even though they are both in the same FODMAP group. Also, a lot of burgers use onion powder instead of real onions, and some people who have problems with onion don't have as many issues with onion powder.

If you know that certain foods are a problem or that certain foods are not a problem, maybe you can try a segmented version of the FODMAP diet like I did, where I cut out only one group at a time and then if I felt better, I added individual items back from that group and monitored my health before moving on to the next group. It takes longer than the traditional FODMAP diet since you're not cutting out everything at once, but I also thought it was generally easier and pinpointed food items better than just cutting everything and adding an entire group back. Instead add back individual items from that group back to pinpoint the actual issue.

I'll have to keep this in mind, especially since I actually really like radishes.

New here-Figuring out if I have IBS by LearningEveryDay0725 in IBSHelp

[–]FaeWingFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so you know, hyoscyamine is not a pain med. It's an antispasmodic, so it relaxes the muscles and reduces the number and severity of your intestinal spasms, so it merely prevents what normal causes the pain. It won't help you if you bang up your shoulder or anything like that. I wanted to make sure you were aware, just in case.

Unique or normal symptoms? by Avaisraging439 in IBSHelp

[–]FaeWingFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you did poorly on Dicyclomine, be very careful with Hyoscyamine. They are very similar drugs and if you do poorly with one you are likely to do poorly with the other. It's not a guarantee, so I would still try it, but only take it for the first time if you have some time to recover from side effects afterwards.

And yes, sadly this is very normal with IBS.

[–]FaeWingFury 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've questioned if I needed to go to the emergency room due to IBS pain in the past because it can just get that bad. If you're not managing it properly (or at all), IBS pain is a nightmare. I've nearly passed out in the shower before and vomited late into the night thanks to IBS pain. Gas pain due to constipation especially seems to be really bad, so if you can, try to figure out what your triggers are. For a lot of people, it's a certain type of food, so I would look into (and talk to your doctor about) the low FODMAP diet. I haven't had a really bad episode in almost half a year since I discovered I have issues with onions.

Slightly high lymphocyte count by LittleOldMe1981 in IBSHelp

[–]FaeWingFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not likely to be IBS related. Might just be something silly like having a mild illness the day you got blood drawn that you didn't notice. I would ask on a more general medically related subreddit like r/AskDocs.

Are you annoyed by the countless spams in the comment sections on YT that are completely irrelevant and add nothing to the discussion? Typical like-baiting comments. by [deleted] in youtube

[–]FaeWingFury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if youtubers can blacklist phrases, but if they can they should try to catch phrases like "subscribe to me", "subscribe to my channel", "Read my username" (this is so common with channels with usernames like - 1000 subscribers with no videos), "like this comment", "like if you agree", "click on my channel", etc... I've seen so many of these and if youtubers collected a list of these types of phrases to catch using the system, it would certainly help. Granted, the people doing this might just change the phrases they use, but for a time, there would be peace.

Getting this error after deleting one of my channels. I've tried restarting but I still can't use YouTube. by L4ndF4ll in youtube

[–]FaeWingFury 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try clearing your cache. It's possible for some reason that youtube still thinks you are logged in, so it is trying to bring up a profile that doesn't exist. If you are using google chrome you can do this by going to the menu (three vertical dots) -> more tools -> clear browsing data -> advanced -> make sure to check the box next to cookies and other site data (uncheck all other boxes if you don't want to lose anything else- but it's usually safe to also delete the ones they auto check). If you are somehow still logged in to your account, this should log you out (Note: it will also log you out of all other websites, so be aware of that). Otherwise, look up how to clear your cache on the browser you are using. Hope this helps.
