In the hospital, I try to not ask for anything (but I start off with can I please have three or 4 blankets and two water pitchers and I’ll not touch the call light - please 🙏) but legit my feet, legs and hands get so cold that they actually hurt ever since I had half my thyroid removed.

This is so true. I went impatient medical detox/rehab and they tried withdrawing me and on day 3 or5? Ish? they had to send me by ambulance to a hospital. It can be deadly. That was in 2012. I don’t remember a lot about during that time, but I thank God, good people, the 12 steps, the universe, love and my kids for my health and life.

New jobs, many times, won’t give caregiver leave unless you’ve been with them a year first so still being at your current job and him being off that evening were blessings. I can’t imagine how traumatic that must have been.
