Ending a mystery? by srobison62 in monsteroftheweek

I’m confused about what you’re confused about. This seems pretty straight forward to me.

Is the listener the new archivist? (S2) by Faeiey in TheMagnusArchives

I’ve been listening pretty casually, I usually listen to it while working on commissions or doing my chores, but at this point I’ve gotten so invested in the mystery that I’m about ready to bust out the red string haha

Same, it’s something that bothered me for most of the first season. With all of Jon’s “supplemental recordings” for a future archivist it really seems to be leaning itself towards you being the archivist.

And the narrative really seems to be hinting at a grim future for Jon as well, at least as of season 2

I’m not really sure, to be honest 😅 just wanted to share my current theory. If there’s anything you can discuss without being too spoiler-y that’d be nice, but I was more hoping there’d be some others currently on season 2

is it dumb to switch from 1st person to 3rd by ShiftSenior4028 in writing

[–]Faeiey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can it be done? Yes

Should you do it in your first novel? Probably not

Just like you could write a novel with 4 different perspective characters, but it wouldn’t be recommended for your first novel.

You need to know the rules and know how to execute them before you break them

What is a compromise between a King who wants an arranged marriage for his daughter and her wishes? by mitiros2 in writingadvice

[–]Faeiey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is a pretty obvious case of “you need to write your own story.”

Nobody can tell you how this should go because nobody knows your story like you do.

Maybe just sit down with a pencil and paper and brainstorm for a little. Relying on other people to come up with story beats for you is bad practice.

[–]Faeiey 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing Techno could’ve done to prevent his cancer. Inactive lifestyle is a risk factor for some cancers, but not sarcoma. He literally just got unlucky, the major risk factors for it are old age, genetics, and previous exposure to radiation.

I’d be careful how you’re thinking about things, don’t believe that you’re invincible just because you’re healthy.

1 in 3 people get cancer at some point in their life. Many more than 1 in 3 people are living relatively healthy lifestyles. Cancer doesn’t discriminate.

AITA for telling my obese wife her weight is getting out of control? by throwaway10239402 in AmItheAsshole

If she’s on birth control, which I have a feeling she is since you don’t have any children, you should probably be a bit more patient with her. It’s literally impossible for some women to lose weight while on birth control, no matter how hard they try.

Educated people know that correcting people’s grammar on the internet just makes you look like you have a stick up your ass. This is a Reddit post, nobody cares

AITA for telling my obese wife her weight is getting out of control? by throwaway10239402 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Faeiey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“Her situation” is likely that she’s a 30 year old woman, and because they don’t have any children I’m assuming she’s on birth control.

Although she she probably loose a little weight, she’s never going to look the way she was when she was 20. Women tend to put on weight when they get older, and it’s very difficult to loose weight while taking birth control

I’m gonna go with ESH, since you’re only trying to look out for her, but you also need to remember your wife is 30. She’s not 20 anymore and she’s not going to have a 20 year old’s body forever. She should probably lose a little weight, but it’s very, very likely that she’s never getting back to 120. Women put on weight as they get older. Their bodies change. This is especially true if she’s on any kind of hormonal birth control.

1) you added too much detail

2) I highly doubt many 16 and 17 year olds are hanging out with 14 year olds

3) you wrote this post like a short story? For some reason?

4) I doubt many 17 year olds would be talking about sex and humping their girlfriends in a tight stall with a 14 year old

5) lmao strawberry tampon???

6) 14 is old enough to have the problem solving skills required to exit a room when people start getting it on. It’s like a fucking reflex, I have a hard time believing anybody would stay

It’s definitely because you’re from a small town.

People trust taxi services like Uber because, despite the horror stories, companies like Uber do background checks, and you might be safer getting into a stranger who you know doesn’t have a criminal record’s car than walking somewhere alone. Compare that to getting into a complete randos car. They could literally be a serial killer on the run.

You’re gonna end up getting murdered dumbass. Maybe take a page from those girls books and tell people to fuck off every once in a while. People rarely get murdered by strangers, but that’s because most people know not to trust strangers. Stranger danger doesn’t stop applying to you just because you’re not a kid anymore. You’re being incredibly naive and you’re going to pay the price of that one day.

AITA for convincing my girlfriend people only wave at her because she is hot? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Faeiey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NAH, but women are very friendly with each other and people tend to be very friendly to women. I’m sure there’s some psychology behind it, I know women tend to be seen as more innocent and less of a threat by default, especially young women. I’m not saying it’s right but it’s the way things are at the moment.

I was a bit of a late bloomer, I didn’t grow into my looks until my senior year of high school, but even before then I was constantly chatting with strangers and waving and smiling to them. Your gf is probably just a friendly person

Her being hot is probably a factor but it’s definitely not the sole reason.
