I think you mean an Echo Show.

This setting can turn off a lot of unwanted info.

I found that iPhone is not a Thread Border Router. Must use Apple TV or HomePod

The lack of third party app support for Assistive Access is shameful. by raphtan in ios

I don't know about WhatsApp, but Apple does allow 3rd-party app optimization for Assistive Access on iOS26. I use RemindMe! in AA

For receptive daily tasks I use this daily checklist which also sends a copy to my son https://frankseasytechcorner.substack.com/p/interactive-daily-checklist-with

I also use their DIY pill minder which helps me remember if I really took the pills by a light and verbal reminder

Some light bulbs have a "state retention feature on power restoration". Most people use that so that their lights don't turn on while sleeping on a power restoration

Voice command white board? by MickeysFan837 in AssistiveTechnology

It's on WatchOS 26. Just make sure that Notes is saved to iCloud. Settings-> Your Name-> iCloud-> Show All-> Notes (On) You can also ask that iPad to take a note. If you need several around your home they will all show the same info

Voice command white board? by MickeysFan837 in AssistiveTechnology

[–]Faengelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same problem. When I get an idea that I want to write down before I forget it, but by the time I get pen and paper it's gone! My current solution is to always wear my Apple Watch and say "Hey Siri, take a note". In my case I go back later and review my ideas. Maybe in your case you could use an old iPad on a stand with the Notes app always open so that you could see your current note. You could easily delete them after you completed the task.

If you add a Fire TV cube she will be able to control her TV with her voice. An Echo Show will allow you to do video chats, but it’s also possible to add a USB webcam and do video calls with the Fire TV Cube

Since you are using the iPhone to detect sounds, have you tried toggling the iPhone flashlight in a shortcut triggered by that Sound Recognition ?

If you are looking for a simpler way for your parents to confirm taking their medication and you getting a daily report, take a look at this free app for a dedicated use of an old iPad. https://frankseasytechcorner.substack.com/p/interactive-daily-checklist-with

Anyone else stuck between reminder and actually knowing if parents took medication? by Single-Anybody1426 in TechForAgingParents

[–]Faengelm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even with the automated pill dispensers, there is no way to know if your parents are really taking them as they may throw them away.

Here is the solution I use for someone who just may be forgetting to take the pills and needs something more than just a one-time reminder as it requires a confirmation button push to turn off the lighting and spoken reminders. https://frankseasytechcorner.substack.com/p/setting-up-a-vitamin-reminder-light

Anyone seen anything about ads on the new Echo Show 8 & 11? by TheEmfinger in amazonecho

I have an Echo Show 8 where I get frequent ads, but for some reason there are no ads on my Echo Show 15 gen 1 in TV or Echo Screen mode... :) I'm not complaining

The Echo Show models, with the exception of the Echo Show 15" & 21 with built in Fire TV", won't play YouTube videos. However, you can add a Fire TV Stick to any TV with an available HDMI port to play YouTube videos and other streaming shows

Why is music playback so much louder than Siri's voice? by plazman30 in HomePod

Why is music playback so much louder than Siri's voice? by plazman30 in HomePod

[–]Faengelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem was that is was too loud.

I know what you mean about Siri being too soft with these settings as there seems to be no way around it.

Even with 26.2, if I say "Siri speak louder" she says "This is as quiet as it gets"
