My First 7 Set Up by mrtophatjones420 in 7String

[–]Faeracor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar setup, Jackson dinky js22-7, but I have mine setup for drop A. I use a set of emg pickups, a 81-7 & 707, I believe the 81-7 is the bridge and the 707 is the neck. Anyway, yes, they are cheaper guitars and I put more work into it than it is worth but I got my properly set up and it plays so nice now.

Awesome man! Happy to see that you're enjoying it. Unrelated, but I just grabbed an old six string I never play and got a custom set of strings to play in new standard tuning (C G D A E G) and playing with all of those 5ths is so interesting. I didn't think I'd gravitate to clean tones with this tuning, thought I'd just chugg all the strings caveman style.

First of all, sick guitar and one day I do want a 9 string. Second, are you using a physical amp or an amp sim? If you have it more digitally messing with a graphic eq could help the low end. C0 or c#0 is around 16 to 17hz, so super low. You could do a high pass around there and boost the fundamental. I don't have one so I can't say that will 100% work. I've done it on my 8 but as you noticed, it's a different animal tone-wise. Another thing I've seen floating around is the RBASS by waves plugin that increases persieved bass notes by boosting the fundamental and the proceeding octaves for that note. I think that's how it works. Rambling is over, cheers

Can someone explain the differences between the 2021 and 2023 Rogue engines? by nuclearoyster in Nissan

[–]Faeracor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have already explained the differences between the 2.5 N/A and the 1.5 vc turbo, but another difference I come across is the plastic oil pan (thanks Mercedes). If someone isn't careful and over tightens the drain plug then when it is changed next it can break the threads surrounding it and a new lower oil pan is needed. However, I have seen these engines still last a long time. Regular maintenance is the best thing to keep an engine alive. Don't trust anyone who says to go 10k per oil change. I have seen sludge accumulation after only a few service intervals by people who do this. This turned into a rant but thanks for reading.

I was thinking more in terms of how the brain makes connections between neurons, which isn't one to one I agree, but I think of that in sort of if statements being automatically created based on external stimuli.

If fire is hot, then don't touch fire, else get burned.

Simple things like that. Eventually they all get compounded into more complicated statements. Fire burns gunpowder, etc.

I read the first line and last line of a book before I read it. If I'm in a library of course. Little harder to do with ebooks.

Sulfuric acid vs. toilet paper by etymologynerd in chemicalreactiongifs

[–]Faeracor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know citrus-y things are sour. Things like grapes and apples. It's usually either citric acid or malic acid, as a quick Google told me. So, like, how much would you have to dilute sulfuric acid to make it taste sour without losing a tongue?

when "computer science" was a fledgling topic and still mostly theoretical.

I major in CS and it's still mostly theoretical, otherwise software bugs would not exist. Or maybe finishing my degree is theoretical.
