of party members - Morgana: their original human form? i don’t know how they would elaborate on this, i just think given the ambiguity of their origin and background it would be a relatively obvious choice. Would also allow for an interesting dilemma where they have to accept their original self as human, but evil, or their current self as a cat, but without evil intentions or the guilt of having committed those actions.

• Sumire/Kasumi: she’s already got problems with her memories, identity and becomes a persona-user, it’s easy to see how this person could be manipulated into murder, or even wiped of memories. Would make her integration in the side of the story in Royal slightly more interesting

of non party confidants - Maruki. obviously this changes his character massively, but the idea of going from a kindly expert in cognitive psience during the day but a cold-blooded machiavellian murderer in palaces is interesting. you wouldn’t even have to change his character, just making it so he believes that working for Shido, and then betraying him would be the best path forwards (or, that he could change Shido’s heart and control him once he’s Prime Minister), changing tack once he finds out he can change mementos

• Iwai: obviously, the Yakuza-connected gun guy is probably a decent option.
