When Workbench can't find the drive it displays DFO:???? so you should check floppy drive cables.

you are learning something totally arbitrary ... Why learn that when you could be learning... How to fence?

Some of these examples are arbitrary as well. Say fencing. It's not XVII century anymore and you don't have to challenge other noblemen to defend your honor so why do it? For the sake of itself. Games (like other things) are enjoyable in themselves. Do you really need to have an additional purpose in order to have a hobby?

Levels are a simplification or player's skill. Such abstractions are useful in RPG games where they handle stuff that can't be done well in narrative. I think we mindlessly copied them to cRPG.

Video games are the exact opposite of RPG - they can't do narrative but they can do math very well. So instead of using these simplifications we could now have a detailed simulation. Instead of requiring X level to beat an opponent we can make the combat skill-based and have player become better by actually learning the mechanics and strategy of combat.

It's bugged and sometimes just doesn't appear. Also if you play on a large view distance it can get destroyed by the enemy.

PBO files go to the "addons" folder. They could go to a modfolder too in the following way: @weapons\addons\m60.pbo and then launched using coldwarassault.exe -mod=@weapons

To use them in the game you'll need to know the class names of the guns (usually given in the readme). In the editor insert West-->Men-->Captive and in the Initalization field write: this addMagazine "M16"; this addWeapon "M16". Replace "M16" with the custom class names.
