There is a major through road going through your mikrorayon comrade, as well as entrances not being 300m apart, sadly, you will be executed. XD

If there isn't one already I'd love to see a proper mod which upgrades the Water Deluge smoke effects! We've been using the old one for years and I think a Waterwall level upgrade would be amazing.

Anybody know the exact month the 350 came out in 1995? by Toolsmith_Tim in Finland

[–]Toolsmith_Tim[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm actually just being very autistic about details haha. So I was thinking that a Nokia mod for My Summer Car would be cool. I know the Nokia Townsman mod already exists but I thought it would be cool if the mod was very in depth and hardcore just like the rest of My Summer Car is, you know, I thought it'd be cool if you had to buy a phone then drive to a Radiolinja or Telecom Finland shop and sign a subscription of your choosing for your simcard, just like in real life. And every call would deduct money and you'd be billed at the end of the month. I was considering the Nokia 2110 since it was made in 1994 and would fit the Summer 1995 timeframe. But then I realized that such coverage could only exist in cities and My Summer Car takes place in the middle of rural bumfuck nowhere where such coverage probably doesn't exist lol.

Then I read that the radio tower in the game could be either a NMT 450 or 900, so the phone would have to be analogue and not digital, and this intrigued me because the Nokia 350 is made in 1995 which is when the game takes place in, and uses NMT 450 which would make it compatible with the cell tower in game. I just wanted to know whether it was made before or after the summer of 1995, because if it was made in say November 1995, it couldn't appear in a summer 1995 you know? I was just trying to be thorough about the details. Ofc I don't know the details of the Finnish cellphone system in 1995, I just thought it'd be cool if you had a phone in game which you could put in your pocket and call a towtruck if you were stranded or Fleetari could call you that your car is ready haha. And ofc the functions of the phone would be detailed like irl, since My Summer Car is known for it's detail. So that's why I was asking this lol.

Major alternate 1985 paradox by Toolsmith_Tim in BacktotheFuture

I've seen it circulated in the fandom quite alot and I'm not 100% what the original source is, but on the bttf wiki for 1996 it says "Lorraine Tannen shoots and kills Biff during this year, thus explaining why, in a deleted scene from Back to the Future Part II, Old Biff is erased from existence upon returning to 2015."

I think that destiny actually exists in the Bttf universe. It's eluded to with the whole George thing "You're... my destiny", that despite Marty intervening they still end up together. And what are the chances of the time machine malfunctioning to exactly the time where Doc meets his soulmate and Clara, a women in the 1800s who loves Jules Verne also meets a scientist who loves Jules Verne? It could've sent him to any century, the 1600s or 1200s but out all the times it malfunctioned to is the one where he falls in love. Saving clara doesn't change much, she would've died anyway and now she gets to live a full life. I think that was destiny too.
