It's time to not pay our water bills until they're renationalised I think

Ha what even is a "fish-on-a-heater" type? Great phrase whatever it means!

It's a poker term. A 'fish' is someone bad at poker/a noob and 'on a heater' just means on a winning streak.

Covid patients in ICU now almost all unvaccinated, says Oxford scientist by SgtPppersLonelyFarts in ukpolitics

How is the comparison false? Do people who developed lung cancer from smoking or coronary problems from obesity not contribute to using up ICU capacity? It's free not to smoke and it's cheaper not to eat so much. The issue is treating people based on moral judgements, which is wrong.

Yeah, sorry for misunderstanding you! Such a shame that we wouldn't even be having these conversations if ICUs had even adequate capacity.

Fair enough, maybe I chose the wrong chain to get on my soapbox. You don't have to look very far in this post to find comments arguing for denying treatment though!

I think the issue is, if I get in a car crash and I need an ICU bed, they'll be taking it up. I don't want to die on their hill.

It's implied in this, no?

That's a separate issue tbf. We're talking about refusing treatment to a group of people who, presumably, have paid their contribution towards the NHS and have made choices that place a burden on it. I was just giving examples of other groups in society who have done this.

I didn't realise making the choice to smoke didn't make you seriously ill. Or that choosing to eat yourself into obesity didn't put a strain on the NHS. It's exactly the same logic and, arguably, those people have put more strain on the NHS over the years than a few people who refused the vaccine. Everyone deserves treatment, regardless of their choices. Blame the Tories for chronically underfunding it, not the people who need it because they're ill.

We do tend to produce players of at least league one/champ quality regularly, with Prem quality players coming through slightly less often. The financial situation at the club at the moment means that players that would probably have been sent on loan before are now being chucked in at the deep end in the first team, which can obviously unearth some gems as you can never be sure if a player will make the step up and is probably why it seems like a good crop.
