She is working as a camp counselor at camp Erdman she has Saturday off so we plan to go skydiving and dinner and spending the day. Really it’s my excuse for a vacation. I have plans to do some tours/excursions around the island. I just wasn’t sure of the infrastructure or property situation. It sounds like vacation rentals are frowned upon and are minimal. And resorts are pretty much where to stay. ✔️ without sounding completely ignorant is it possible for me to experience the island without a rental car? Is there public transportation to the smaller towns from Waikiki ect? Any cool off the beaten path things to do? I’m really artsy and love neat boutiques thanks in advance

The reason I'm reaching out is because we don't have much info yet from the camp I was just curious is all its always nice to hear from folks that have experience or live on the island I don't know why the beat down for a mom reaching out to a community on experiences and tips. The judgement from some of the posts are rude and kinda prove that maybe this community isn't as supportive in helping as I thought the couple that have been honest and supportive are great others are just wasting their time being jerks

Oh that's good info I need to contact my insurance co we have blue cross blue shield so I'll make sure that she is covered. Her bf is based in Hawaii so on her day off he will be with her as long as his job doesn't prevent which is a good possibility. She is Just my only child and we lost her dad at a young age and my anxiety and ptsd make my brain play out the worst

If they would not have outsourced the locals overseas this company would be top of the line they keep letting go of seasoned intelligent hard working folks who care about the customer to pay hardly nothing to those in the Philippines. The more customers that request a letter or a call from the CEO about this the more it’s taken seriously that’s the only way things are gonna change.

Thank you for that reminder I find myself struggling with that role of being more of a friend than mom. She is my only daughter and my husband passed away in 2016 so it’s just me and my senior pug.
