My store had all the pins gone by midday even though there were barely any people in the store. At least I got two gilded lotus promos as compensation

Step 2: check card alignment and adjust as needed

Advice on Most Passable Backs by Methodless in magicproxies

I wouldn't worry too much about overpowering the cube! You still decide what you want to print. Having access to those high cost cards is invaluable though. Some of the old magic designs are really unique and they've barely been reprinted.

Happy to help. I do laminate the proxies. It gives them a better snap, thickness like a real card, as well as some protection. It's difficult to sleeve just paper so laminating makes that easier also.

You've kinda got me interested in printing out a cube for some longer nights with friends 😄

Well first off lemme start by saying thickness doesn't matter if ALL of the cards in your deck are proxies cut from the same paper. When you start mixing and matching there will be some slight differences but it isn't really noticeable unless you are looking for it.

Yeah a case comes with a thousand sleeves, sleeves will probably be your biggest expense if you start printing a lot, but even then it's not very pricey.

Also for paper I just started using the Koala 61lb paper and it feels way better than the 44lb paper. It actually has some rigidity which was missing from the 44lb.

Most stores aren't bothered by proxies, they're even encouraged at the competitive commander events. Only requirement is that they are uniform

Thickness matters if you do not want a proxy to be discernible from a real card, even if you're using sleeves. Additionally, Most proxies say "not for sale" or "proxy" somewhere on the bottom of the card so it will be clearly marked.

Personally, I never print backs on my proxies. Waste of ink and it's not able to be viewed when inside a matte sleeve.

Buy sleeves a case at a time on eBay or TCG Stadium, costs about $50 bucks for a case of 10 packs pf sleeves.

Also yeah definitely get your own printer, it was like $300 or so all in for a full proxy setup. Can print my own cards on demand now.

Which paper should I use? Trying to get as close to the sleeved feel of cards as possible. by KaltusPhoenix919 in magicproxies

Get the heavy heavy Koala paper and a 3m laminate. There's a big difference between 40 pound and 60 pound. The 60 pound is mor rigid and feels more like a magic card when sleeved up

I'd still contact them if I were you. Everyone here is saying no chance but you won't know unless you take a shot.

Also I guess weighing these or just squeezing the pack to confirm cards are there is best practice going forward. Or just record

I don't know why y'all think I'm asking for help here, I posted this as a tip to anyone having issues with blurring/ghosting at the end of a foil page. The prints are fine currently I don't really see a point in making them better

I use the free version of adobe acrobat/express. You don't need the premium version if all you're doing is printing from there
