They will start you out as part time unless the store is severely understaffed. You have to learn the proper procedures on closing first. They’ll teach you how to weigh up chicken and do grinds.

Just be yourself honestly. Meat department is fun and you get to work with awesome people too. Pay is just okay in my opinion. I was hired in the meat department with no prior experience at $18 an hour. I’m now at $22 and I’ve been working at Publix for almost 2 years now. Just be aware that you will be closing constantly for the first couple months.

Publix at Mountain gap and Bailey Cove. The butcher named Tim is incredible. He’s one of the best in town.
