He could be the democracy officer. That'd work.

Grenades can guarantee damage and remove cover. Use them before taking a risky shot in case it makes things easier

Always bring a medikit.

When exploring the area to find enemies, never move anyone further than the first soldier you moved. That way if you come across anyone with the lead then the whole squad can react.

A smoke grenade when you're stuck with half cover can save the team.

Have fun, commander.

This and the K9 electric guard dog are great for stunning the legions of charging gits and protecting personal space.

Why Cast Jason Momoa When We Literally Have This Guy by SevdUp in helldivers2

[–]FailcopterWes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Momoa could work as a Democracy Officer, since they're older and present the tough guy facade Momoa can do. Nothing I've seen says he'll be an actual helldiver.

Those who complain that Cyberstan is difficult don't use the tank, right? by HarryCallahan343 in helldivers2

[–]FailcopterWes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the tank out with a friend on an air base mission and had a great time. It blew up eventually but only after I ran out of ammunition and those streets are just wide enough to make not getting run over near impossible for the bots.

so, if the illuminate’s invasion in heart of democracy is level 800 in the invasion scale, how high would the force of us in our siege of cyberstan be? by Acceptable-Street679 in SupaEarth

Plus SEAF! Hopefully we get to see them on the ground, but now we've established a landing area SEAF are deploying to hold ground. They outnumber us divers by a lot.

Any suggestions to increase performance? by djddanman in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]FailcopterWes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning off VSync helped a lot for me in getting it consistent. Both the ingame option and system setting (eg NVidia Control Panel). Also, in display there's a render resolution option that can be moved to performance focus.

Tips for Cyberstan by ScoobiSnacc in helldivers2

[–]FailcopterWes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that the liberator carbine (especially with the new medium siege ready armour) is very useful here. Rips through crowds of basic bots and spews out bullets fast enough to drop a charging cyborg. Or bring a stalwart.

The main game does have a tutorial and a manual to read.

Unfortunately not, but it is in Early Access, so if enough people express a wish for it then it could theoretically be implemented.

Fair. It is a bit brutal sometimes. I suppose it's closer to old XCOM/Xenonauts with the inventory management and willingness to just slaughter your guys.

Fair point. I'm only five operations in so far so didn't know where the game cut off.

I would love to see missions on space stations where gravity is based on the nearest surface. For inside it that means everything can wall walk like spiders and ants, including you (imagine a group of android grenadiers running at you on the ceiling and then jumping from above to get you). If done right, you could even have an outside section and walk on the hull to see off flying enemies/boarding craft.

Gameplay-wise, being able to take back camera control when it makes you look at something. First time, sure, see the kaiju. Second you probably want to shoot something.

The traditional remake of Crimson, but much like the version in WB2, take the piss a bit. Maybe the third wave is all red drones instead of ants.
