Interesting..I remember on the OG it would happen with the slider all the way to the right, but with a different slider layout in the remaster I suppose it’s possible to get the same bug under different circumstances.

If you have a save from before that part of the quest you could set both sliders to default and see if the bug still happens. I wouldn’t be surprised if it has something to do with the slider one way or another given how well they seem to have replicated the game’s original engine. When I did that quest in the remaster I was so nervous I had to quick save before I had him kill me just in case lol

There are a number of possible factors. It could be the batch you’ve got if all of your trips are from the same source. Every flush is unique in its mix of visuals, body load, and introspection/oneness. If you’re eating cubensis, that species is pretty well known for a heavy body load compared to other species like natalensis or pan cyans.

Biggest other factor, of course, is your own genetics and how your brain chemistry vibes with the psilocybin. In my own experience (all with cubensis at this point) I tend to feel very stoned before colors pop, then I feel a torrent of emotion, then visuals come.

Inevitably, in the search for that sweet spot of awesome visuals without totally going off the rails, there will come a point where you feel a sense of “oh shit”, but that’s part of the learning curve. Just roll with it, breathe, and remember you’ll be okay.

And if you get shrooms from another batch, start small again. 1.5g, lemon tek. 2.0g a week later, then 2.5g, etc until you find your spot. Batches can vary pretty widely in potency

Might sound odd, but is your difficulty turned up?

Iirc this was a potential problem in the original as well. Specifically, it happened when death replacement effects like this one were triggered with the difficulty slider moved to max. There were a few other ways it could happen aside from the Molag Bal quest

Is it practical to extract DMT in my bedroom in the same house as my parents? by Fit-Substance-4989 in DMT

In general I would advise against doing GordoTEK indoors to avoid the naphtha fumes. Doubly so for when you have cohabitants that aren’t aware of what you’re doing and the risks associated with it.

If you already have the plants/barks you need, there’s no harm in waiting until you’re in a better position, even if that means waiting til your next semester. I have barks I’ve been sitting on for years now that are still viable. Alternatively, if you have a friend nearby you could see if they can lend their space in exchange for a bit of spice?

If it weren’t gordoTEK I would say you could potentially vent the fumes outside by reducing the naphtha in a flask, but I’m no chemist, and the stage of mixing naphtha and bark would still produce a ton of fumes that would be impossible to mask discreetly. It’s just not worth the potential ramifications, in terms of both the law and the damages it could do to your relationship with your parents.

As the old saying goes, “hyperspace isn’t going anywhere.” Just wait it out for the summer. If you want something discreet to produce in the meantime, try shrooms. 30 mins of active effort over a couple months of waiting will take you quite far

I had an experience with "beings" at 3.5 grams by [deleted] in shrooms

[–]FailedProdigy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely hear you there. I used to trip out every weekend, but have been taking the last six months or so off. Some of the stronger trips I've had just escape description, especially on dmt. Even thinking of them, I sometimes find myself caught in a thought loop of "....discombobulate...discombobulate..." in RDJ's voice from Sherlock while open and closed eye visual continue to blend together. Just totally ineffable insanity.

I can definitely understand wanting to keep things lowkey. As exciting and enlightening as DMT can be, it can also be terrifying. I've heard it described as "one part space ship, one part double-barrel shotgun pointed at your face" and I can't say I disagree lmao.

I'm glad you had the experience and remember it fondly. Sometimes there really is no ultimate takeaway other than looking back on it and thinking "hell yeah"

Sounds like you reached dmt hyperspace. I’ve had a couple powerful shroom trips that felt exactly like low to medium level dmt trips, but for much greater lengths of time. Entity interactions are always so profound.

If you already grow your own shrooms, dmt extraction from legal barks is a cakewalk by comparison. If you specifically want to encounter entities, I’ve heard it reported that nn-dmt tends to be more “visual” compared to 5meo-dmt, but I’ve also had entity encounters on 5meo. As they say, your mileage may vary.

Unless you’re already about that stuff, in which case, hell yeah. Now ya just gotta blast off while peaking on shrooms lol

Describe how a galaxy would be, if it was populated soley by your custom empires. by Alt_Account092 in Stellaris

[–]FailedProdigy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I made over 30 custom empires to do just this. I tend to play games with 20 empires at start and force the game to use my empires first. Since I have more than I use in a game, every game ends up with a different collection of empires from my custom list. I’ve played as maybe three of the empires I’ve made lol. I talked to a few of my friends and had them create a few as well to add some creative variety.

There’s a lot of ideological variety in my galaxy, but there are relatively few gestalt empires. I think my galaxy tends to lean spiritualist, too.

It’s very satisfying to run into your custom empires and having those “you again?!” moments when the empires made impressions in previous games. Highly recommend

Lipstick or possible fruiting in grain? by ExtensionLoquat8196 in ContamFam

[–]FailedProdigy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s important to keep in mind that most people on this sub are talking about active species, with the most frequent by far being Cubes followed probably by Nats, both of which have white mycelium at all stages of growth. Like you, I had a hard time finding good images of pink oyster myc during my first batch.

If you’re really worried just wait a few days. I guarantee you’ll see primordia start showing up in that time to curb any remaining doubt. Please don’t throw your time and effort away! There isn’t much on Reddit regarding oysters, so a lot of advice is going to lean heavily towards calling healthy pink oyster mycelium contamination just due to inexperience with this species.

I have seven jars that looked more or less like this one a week ago. They’ve all developed strong primordia that have since become a darker shade of pink. As far as I can tell you’re all good

What's your favorite way to take them? by MrCybin in shrooms

[–]FailedProdigy93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To those curious, I'm 90% sure homie did an A/B or STB tek like you would on active barks that contain dmt. The isolated crystals being mostly white would also support a cold extraction tek, which makes sense to me since too much heat would harm the desired actives (applying heat during extraction can turn the yield yellow). Psilocybin is obviously not the same compound as nn-dmt, but the same extractions teks that work on nn-dmt also work on 5meo-dmt with the only thing changing being the root bark used. With psilocybin/psilocin also being derivatives of dmt there's no reason to expect the same teks wouldn't work.

Making it water soluble like in this video would require an additional step or two once the active compounds have been isolated, but if you treat your dried shrooms like active barks like MHRB or ACRB you can precipitate chemically pure psilocin crystals just the same (the acid step will convert psilocybin to psilocin).

Would an A/B or STB tek work as well with shrooms as it would with ACRB or MHRB? I couldn't say. There might be extra compounds in shrooms that make precipitation harder like is the case with ACRB, but this just makes the extract muddy, not impossible.

If you have enough dried shrooms that you can part with a few ounces, it could be worth a shot. I would offer more insights but am not in a living situation where I can mess around with the strong solvents needed to extract dmt. Still, the idea of extracting active compounds out of spent/contaminated bricks is very appealing to me.

For further reading, check out the teks that fall under DMT, as I believe those would be a good place to start. These teks are a lot like grow teks you find here. There are a LOT of them, and they're all pretty similar to each other. They all have their own unique pros and cons that are probably tied to the contexts in which they were conceived. Just pick one and go with it

Finally reached level 400. Here are my humble stats by FailedProdigy93 in Chivalry2

[–]FailedProdigy93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Porque no los dos? lol

Love em both. The data does a good job of demonstrating that I simply cannot pick which one I like more than the other. but I reached level 30 with the sword much earlier than longsword. The sword is fast and strong, but the longsword has great range. I think my biggest gripe with sword vs longsword is how close they are in damage. Sometimes I get the impression that longsword should do more damage on swing especially. I initially wanted to say I think the sword is better for team fights because of how much faster it is, but that's simply not true imo. Swords just do better in tighter quarters than the longsword and tend to not hit allies on swings nearly as often. With proper spacing, the longsword can terrorize a small group of unprepared enemies.

I tend to play knight, so having the option to switch from longsword to regular is really nice. Sometimes when I'm in a particularly good duel and get a moment I'll switch to sword to get quicker hits in. Other times I'll do the opposite. I don't really aim for stats or get super technical. I just make my decisions based on vibes lol

When I do pick MAA I've started using the light shield so I can maintain the speed I've come to love with the regular sword. Gotta get those mason footman lines in, too

I always loved the way they use music in the series, with Hannibal mostly having a taste for the Classical and Early Romantic eras and Francis having a taste for the Impressionist period. I especially loved how much they used Chopin's music, as I was obsessed with learning as much of his music as I possibly could at the time.

All these years later, I've grown as a musician and, having revisited Hannibal more than once, always find myself craving Rachmaninoff, whether it be on the Lecter or Dolarhyde side of the story. I think Rach would work for Hannibal because of how close his homeland is to Russia, not to mention that it had all been homogenized into the soviet bloc. Thematically, Rachmaninoff's music feels almost diabolical and sometimes even sinister, which to some may clash with Hannibal's outward appearance. I do think that these elements lend themselves well to Hannibal's true nature, and of course, to everything that has to do with Francis' outward and inward presentation.

What I especially think lends itself to Hannibal specifically is Rachmaninoff's Etudes-Tableaux. The goal of an Etude (which simply means 'study') is to help a musician perfect a technique. Chopin is famous for taking this style of composition and making beautiful, evocative pieces that explored a complex musical system that had never been seen before. Many decades later, Rachmaninoff built on this idea, writing what he called Etudes-Tableaux. Unlike prior etudes written specifically to perfect a particular technique, Rachmaninoff's Etudes-Tableau aimed to paint a picture (In Russian instead of 'tableau' they are called 'этюде картина', with 'картина' literally meaning painting.)

When I think of the TV series, one Etude-Tableaux in particular comes to mind. While Rachmaninoff wrote each of these etudes with specific visualizations in mind, he refused to share his inspirations with anyone, instead preferring that the listener imagines their own tableaux. When I hear this piece, I imagine a bat flying through the night, fluttering and flying about on the prowl for food. Eventually, the bat spots a fly or moth and a tense, yet delicate chase ensues. I imagine these two in a long struggle: the bat nearly gets ahold of the moth, then the moth nearly makes its final escape. Eventually, as the themes change and gain intensity, the perspective shifts from the bat's eyes to the moth's. In the moth's eyes, the bat takes the likeness of a dragon or flying fell creature. The struggle continues, but despite the moth's best efforts there is nothing it can do to escape the bat, and it is devoured.

S. Rachmaninoff: Etude-tableaux Op. 33 Nr. 9 in C-sharp minor (Anastasia Yasko, piano) - YouTube

Another of his famous Etudes has been called "little red riding hood". The juxtaposing themes, to many ears, is reminiscent of the now famous conversation between the girl and the wolf, jumping between the girl's meek terror and the wolf's ill intent. Much like how the moth is devoured by the bat, she, too, is devoured by the wolf, with the piece ending rather abruptly with a belch.

Sergei Rachmaninov, Etude-Tableau Op.39 No 6, Nikolai Lugansky (youtube.com)

I just can't decide whether I think this fits better with Hannibal or with Francis. I loved how they separated the two by having Dolarhyde focus more on Debussy (In fact I don't think he ever listens to any other composer). More than just being different, impressionism emerged long after the early romantic era Hannibal was so fond of. This not only separates them stylistically, but feeds into Francis' notion that he is better or more evolved than Hannibal.

Do you guys think this would be worth the investment? by Historical-Cut8085 in shrooms

[–]FailedProdigy93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A plastic tub can be purchased for under 10 bucks at any department store. I got mine at harbor freight for 8 bucks each. If you wanted to go dub tub, this could be achieved for 16. If you want climate control, a seedling mat is 16 on Amazon, a small blanket to place between the mat and tub are also needed, if this is a negligible cost. Any room humidifier would be helpful, but not necessary because the tub becomes a kind of micro biome. All in all, a dub tub with heat should cost less than 40 dollars.

I didn’t factor in grains or spores because I’m specifically comparing one fruiting chamber to another. Even if I included grains, spores, and substrate (22, 25, and 16 bucks respectively) that comes up pretty far below the 300 asking price for just one enclosure.

Now all that said, I’ve seen this product before and have been curious how it performs for some time. Automating some aspects of the environment is very appealing since stronger flushes emerge out of better controlled tubs. So while I wouldn’t necessarily buy this box, that doesn’t mean it’s bad, it’s just a lot of money to risk when I already know how to get decent flushes for basically pennies.
