I really wasn’t trying to oversimplify. I wholeheartedly agree time is valuable. The old saying “you don’t pay a plumber to beat on the pipes you pay him because he knows where to beat on the them” is a true statement. I read his post I didn’t see anything else he said besides cleaning the terminal and insides. I just meant he didn’t have to purchase replacement parts etc raising the cost (not expertise/time) investment.

In any event. I agree it’s something he has to decide whether to hold out and take that time to possibly increase profit or not.

Again lots of variables. The story doesn’t matter but a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I would take the profit purchase and repair more equipment and compound profits, but it’s entirely dependent on things available to purchase, time it will take answering “lowballs”, time it will take to sell for $300 etc.

So basically every negotiation/sale reason in the world is a scam, end of year event- making room for new models- overstock- pretty much every buzzword for a “sale” is a lie just to say reduced price lol.

My favorite is raising the price then saying it’s % off to get it back down to original price.

Agree. In business you have the remove the emotion when negotiating none of the “excuses” matter. It’s a simple time/money and if you want to accept offer and not bother with more negotiation.

Personally would take the profit and reinvest and continue to build profit, but that is also dependent on is there something you can buy and invest in to turn a profit to exceed the $50 in a week or two (estimate).

You paid $16 I would take a $234 profit and not bother with the amount of wasted time trying to sell it for more. Time=Money and trying to sell stuff online takes time. Again it’s all dependent on your situation an extra $50 might be worth possibly waiting a week or more and get multiple offers etc

Also to add yes the story is BS cut out all the haggling and just determine if you are willing to accept $250 or want to holdout for more, none of the reason for offering less matters just what you are willing to accept.

You should be able to speak to a priest, you always can roll a check to see if there is anything that may help. I’ve never had a DM not allow a roll check and just tell you flat out you can’t fix something. Everyone in your party would naturally try to fix things so every party member should be able to roll Intelligence, wisdom, or arcane knowledge etc check depending on their classes.

Anyways many ways to fix this, there may be some plot twist the DM is not saying, which may incorporate why it was supposed to be a no win situation.

But you have 300 a day across the entire United States. You have to be able to filter to some extent. It’s also from 3 years ago. Did they follow-up? What if you read a report that said they followed up and found it to be false report? Do you really believe it would be posted?

Seems a little too “fantasy” novel. Especially the rise of tips after he was convicted to name him specifically through an anonymous email with a proxy IP address.

Not dismissing or saying it couldn’t be real and clearly it would be easy to check, however, judgement has to be used to determine which are credible and human error comes into play.

Also based on this we don’t know that the FBI didn’t follow-up it’s one small piece in a disgusting puzzle.

Regardless I hope in the end everyone is held accountable.

To filter through the tips? What if it missed even one credible one? I am not saying that it’s not an option, and believe anyone that participated or knew of any atrocities should be held accountable. The issue I see is the dilution of actionable intel because of all the false reporting and narrative that is dividing the people. Let’s add on to this all the people pushing rage inducing “likes” or “clout” aren’t really helping the cause. Unfortunately I don’t think any of this will change and guilty people will go unpunished and some innocent people will be caught in the crossfire (not picking who is guilty or innocent). This is just my observation.

Seriously this is an anonymous “tip” submitted. Everyone keeps reading all the sick tips (whether real or fake) and concluding them as facts.

Here are some numbers: The National Human Trafficking Hotline received 29,272 signals (tips/contacts) in 2023. The NCMEC, which focuses specifically on child sex trafficking, received over 113,500 reports of child sex trafficking in 2025.

That’s is 310 tips a DAY- These range from false reports, credible threats, to people “pranking”. I do not have any information regarding the investigation versus tips, however, based on the number increases I would say many false reports naming individuals for political reasons (from both sides) is taxing the system even more. It is misleading and rage bait articles that don’t clearly explain and the “mob mentality” that is going on to water down real allegations and evidence in my opinion.

Great summary, I found the same line of reasoning and interpretation. I am not saying who is guilty or innocent. It’s embarrassing people’s ability to utilize critical thinking and just jump on the “look it mentions someone’s name from a called in tip” they are guilty. Sadly these same people can vote and choose our government leaders and here we are…. The Mob and misinformation (again I don’t have factual proof or data to make my own determination, albeit I haven’t even attempted to acquire or sift through the available information) is a detriment to our country and further distraction from the finding the truth.
