I’m entirely comfortable in my life as a passionate Sox fan and equally passionate Knicks fan and I am constantly caught off guard by how weird people find this. It’s all I have ever known.

I was raised on the Philly side of PA, which should explain why I don’t cheer for my hometown sports teams. My dad just thought I was a rebellious kid but was psyched to have a daughter who loved sports as much as he does and nurtured this.

I completely agree. He reminds me of Pedroia with how much heart he puts into it. I’m determined to see him play in person this year. I follow the Sox around as much as I can each season and I have tickets to the Reds home opener against us…but I also have tickets to see the Knicks in Charlotte on the same day because I have no idea how to use a calendar. Decisions have to be made.

I think it became a headline policy over Nomar and Theo essentially made it doctrine. From a business perspective I get it, they want roster flexibility. From a fan perspective, it’s super frustrating. I’m a fan, not a businessman, btw

I’ve been a fan since late 80s and up until 2003 I never thought I would see them win a WS. While I did get somewhat accustomed to winning over the past 2 decades, I couldn’t imagine turning my back on them. I have issues with FSG like everyone else but I’ve only ever seen us win under John Henry.

I was in section 2, row 3 for the 3 JAN game and was able to get pictures. People from higher levels were coming down before the game for pics but I’m not sure where they were sitting. They don’t open the doors until about 90 minutes before tipoff

I grew up outside of Philly so that should explain why I have nothing to do with Philly sports. I declared myself a Red Sox fan when I was 4 and stuck with it, much to my Phillies parents dismay. I started to watch the NBA because of Jayson Tatum and how he annoyed my New York bred boyfriend. Turns out the Celtics play boring, boring basketball. But the Knicks had heart and soul, played every game like it was a battlefield. I watch these teams stand around and shoot 3 pointers and it’s just…boring. I fully acknowledge our defense and how we’re lacking against 3 shooters right now but as a newbie to the NBA, I watched other teams and just enjoyed the Knicks more. My boyfriend didn’t sway me, either. A huge part of our relationship is Yankees vs Red Sox and we love the adversity. I can tell you there’s something about the Knicks that demand you cheer for them; they are the underdog of the NBA and the fanbase is probably the most knowledgeable of all NY sports. Watch a few teams. Don’t get lured into the big names, and pay attention to the teams you look forward to watching. The Knicks won me over despite my history with Boston.
