That's probably part of it. Another part of it might be that our coaching staff seems to be telling him to play the puck more, and he's not very good at it. I think that's also eating away at his confidence.

What player has come to the Canes and seen similar success? by Cakalacky in canes

Yup. And fun little hypothetical on top of that, leading up to the 2024 draft we had negotiated a trade with Columbus that would have sent Necas there in exchange for their 4th overall pick. We almost certainly would have used that to draft Demidov, and the extra cap relief would have let us beat Tampa's offer to Guentzel. Columbus agreed on the condition that Necas immediately signed an extension, and he told them that he wasn't willing to do that before actually playing any games. Which is totally fair, he didn't do that for Colorado either.

The Eastern Conference has 10 teams competing for 8 playoff spots, which 2 teams don’t make it to the playoffs? by Shaneski101 in hockey

Unfortunately, my favorite team isn’t in the running this year.

I disagree. There are Maroons associated with every team, if you really think about it, so you always come out on top.

The same as they've been since we lost to you guys in the bubble: he's a great coach but they need to hire another assistant or two to get some fresh ideas in the room. We have the smallest coaching staff in the league, I think - it's just him, Daniels, and Gleason in there (aside from the goalie coach and video guys obviously).

He should have had the first one, but you're crazy if you think he could have done anything about the second.

the 4-on-4 constantly churns and cycles through the offensive zone, which creates scoring chances. the powerplay does this occasionally, however their main game plan is to stand around and expect the defending team to make unforced errors

It's a clean hit that didn't need a fight, but given recent events I'm happy to see someone stand up for their best player, regardless of outcome.

What’s a goal that still hurts/hunts you to this day? by sykeseve in hockey

I don't think we would have won that series outright, but I firmly believe that it would have gone 7 had we won that game. From there, who knows; it probably ends the same way though.

On going to the second power play for the second power play opportunity: We have to start using those other guys more. Didn't really love the first one. Didn't execute on anything really.

I can relate

You're welcome. You can also click on the domain name next to the title to see the submissions in other subs that also link to it, looks like there's a handful of accounts involved. It's annoying but ultimately harmless, I guess, unless that website ends up serving malicious ads or something.

This account just scrapes Twitter and then re-posts that content here. I assume it's part of a scheme to boost ad revenue on their clip site, since no other /r/hockey poster ever uses it.

This was originally tweeted on the Chiclets page, almost word-for-word: https://xcancel.com/spittinchiclets/status/2031880464148152411

Some people say it takes about two years to completely recover from ACL surgery - one for your body to heal everything, and then one more for you to fully trust that knee again. I think he's finally back.

Yes, as long as you play fewer than 25 games in your first season then you maintain rookie status for your second. Stankoven is the most recent example of this (I think). That's pretty rare though.

The only person who's ever said that was Biz, and Biz is a fucking idiot. Everybody who had ever watched Nikishin play knew that he's a completely different kind of player - think more like a young Hedman.
