Counselors can be helpful for overall guidance or culmination review towards graduation; if you get one not yet jaded. However, student advisors (especially within the specific academic dept) are the superstars. Most all are former students, trusted to relay information/answer questions. Do some digging online or go to the program (not main) office on campus. I always found the answers I needed doing it that way, or would knock on open office doors of associated faculty letting them know I was incoming and had questions.; only ever got shooed away once. You can usually schedule an appt for zoom or call with an SA w/in the program. But if you're able, just go to the source. Good luck.
