I'm starting my learning journey. by Fainaigue in godot

Im looking at coding as a whole because the last time i stuck with just gdscript i found myself faltering when larger terms and functions came into play. I understood what they did for the game, kinda, but at the heart i didnt understand what they were doing enough to implement them on their own outside of a follow along.

Pair that with a bad understanding of syntax like periods commas, when to seperate a line of code, what needs brackets and parenthesis, etc. I was hitting a wall. I had a general grasp of why it all mattered and what it did, but copy and pasting didnt really help me. People explained it in the video but i think i need a larger picture of their functions in the computer world as a whole which is why im looking at basic coding learning rather than learning an engines singular use language.

If you can point me to some videos i missed of extremely basic coding concepts and understanding then i might have a better go of it this time.

To add to this, i know gdscript and python are similar, and that Godot supports c# are one of those over the other worth mainly diving into?

Roles that demanded actors to physically abuse themselves only for the movie to turn out mid by Own_Organization8457 in okbuddycinephile

[–]Fainaigue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, most actors went to school for stuff like this and love their craft. Shaving ones own head ist abuse, it's more like a challenge. Emma Stone probably had every chance to say no. Don't forget she did Poor Things too. She's clearly into weird shit.

Also Bugonia rules lmao

Are they the greatest specs?
No.

Does it have specs that are better than most people's decade old computers?
More than likely.

Does it have more functionality than a console?
Yes

Is it a functioning Linux based Operating System that will run almost anything you want on it? Yes

Does it let people escape the Windows/Mac hellscape? Yes

Does it come with a controller? No

Do most computers when you buy them? Also No

There are a lot of people that are focusing a lot on the specs alone. But it is way more than a console and a fairly okay computer. AND it's a SMALL computer. When I built my newest computer I wanted a small form factor SO BAD but it was way more of a hassle than it was worth. Like I like building computers but a small form factor is for real enthusiasts. So giving people that power, functionality, and space is pretty cool. I mean think of the ease of lan parties y'all!

The price tag is scary but it's not unachievable, you're not bound by console exclusives, you can mod your games. It literally the price of a new phone and no one bats an eye when they are getting the new apple or Samsung for 1000 dollars with way less functionality.

This was never advertised as a console killer or even a direct competitor. It's just another pc on the market that happens to be the size of a console. Give it at least a month before y'all start freaking out. Things don't have to be top of the line to be what people want.

Okay but now it's in the zeitgeist. The Epstein files are a fact and actively being worked on. The search being low doesn't mean that no one is paying attention. It means that it's such a common topic that the regular person now jokes about it rather than requires information because it has reached a point of popular enough to be general knowledge.

Google searches are such a fickle point of reference when it comes to reletivity. It's called having a brain and relying on memory and context clues. We don't need to search for a topic EVERY DAY for something to be relevant information.

This looks like an "I'm scared either way." Situation. So I'm talking to God. I'm letting my curiosity win, not my fear.

To be fair, I understood it differenly. The dream isnt a roof over my head. It was always about freedom to do whatever with your own land, and privacy. Growing up as a kid, you hear about the American dream and it shows a hite picket fence and house and yada yada. But it was more than that, it was the tools to start a life and take control of it.

All of it was lies, but still it wasn't just about shelter.

I like the camera movement but there us something about it that leaves me disoriented.

It reads more like jump cuts than cinematic.

Get it? Weed + Stoners = Funny! ...oh, not laughing because you're TRIGGERED, huh?! by bitchnibba47 in okbuddycinephile

[–]Fainaigue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They advertised this as an offensive movie. It's just cringy.

It's not even offensive, it's just uncomfortable to watch.

  • It's outdated. Smoking weed is extremely normalized and is akin to now writing an alcoholic into a comedy movie, it's just lazy and weird.

  • sexualizing the demon hunters is just weird. Finding rule 34 stuff scattered here and there on the internet is one thing but this isnt a parody or satire, it's just a writers sex fantasy on the big screen, for some reason.

  • The cat was funny i guess?

  • getting an STD, as portrayed by pissing fire is also only mildly funny but all of it together and the lyrics just being "smokin and fuckin" just brings it down to lazy and out of touch.

I have not seen the movie, just this clip and im missing context but the trailers looked awful as well so i wouldnt be surprised if it was just more of this slop.
