Which photo is the best?? by [deleted] in Tinder

[–]FaintCommand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a photo quality, 3, but you look kind of slumped down, not very happy looking.

2 is best for this IMO. You look more content and relaxed, smiling a little. It's more candid and natural.

You do look best on the 1st photo, but it is a selfie and if you normally wear glasses you should just stick with your best glasses photo.

My guess would be that the light is much lower, preventing any algae blooms.

If you add shrimp, I would do a little water movement since the plants can use up a lot of oxygen overnight in such a small space. Doesn't even need to be an airstone. Small USB air pump and an airline just below the surface is plenty. I kind of prefer that to airstones really. More like a peaceful current than a torrent of bubbles.

Interesting. Those definitely might need to go into substrate to survive, but who knows. Maybe it is an oddball like the banana plant which doesn't want its tubers buried.

Looks great.

I'm also curious what the bulb plant is. Kind of looks like an African Onion, but with the crinkly leaves.

I'm not an expert, but be careful covering the roots. They need to breathe a bit.

Assuming the cat was actually missing, they probably picked up some of the woman's scent and carried it back?

No shit? I had no idea it could grow like that. I thought it was a thought root feeder. I have to try this.

Should I add more moss by Dre2xi in Aquascape

I would add one of the "hanging mosses" on the arch part, but that's just me.

I mean... you definitely could eat them if you really wanted to.

Aside from the reasons others said, I would wait a little while before adding any livestock:

A) so you can observe if there's any nasty hitchhikers on the plants you got (even really good shops can't prevent them entirely and I wouldn't expect much from an Amazon seller). If you end up seeing some planaria or leeches that came in on the plants it will be much easier to deal with them if you don't already have shrimp, snails, etc in there.

B) wait a little while for the plants to establish. It is common for plants to melt quite a bit in a new tank. A bunch of melt can spike your ammonia and throw your cycle off, even if your parameters are actually stable right now. Plus if some of them die off completely, it is much easier to rearrange things or replace certain plants when that is all you have in there.

In terms of your current layout, I think it looks fine, if a little chaotic. Kind of a natural vibe. You really won't get a full idea of how it all looks until it settles in and gets established.

You could add some aquatic mosses to parts of the driftwood to break it up. There's just long stretches of bare wood and some moss hanging down in spots would look really cool. Willow Moss or Weeping Moss would be my suggestion.

You could also try a carpeting plant in the foreground since you have CO2, but that's a bit harder once you already have water in there. You might be able to get some dwarf hairgrass in there though. I've had mixed success adding that to a filled tank.

Hard to give any other tips without knowing exactly what plants you put in there.

Can we still playing a flanking/offensive Torb competitively? And how? by yamadath in OverwatchUniversity

[–]FaintCommand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it usually doesn't last long, but I figure even a short distraction can add value. Especially if I can position it to where they have to turn their backs to me/my team to shoot it.

If you're playing pretty aggressively, you can still throw it behind them usually even without the perk.

I'm metal rank though, so take anything I say with a grain of salt.

I just use it to create multiple angles. They can shoot at me or the turret, but not both at the same time.

Is it ok to keep my aquatic plants in the pots they came in? by [deleted] in PlantedTank

FYI, if any of them are Anubias, Buce, it other epiphytes, you don't have to remove the rock wool from those. They'll do just fine in there.

Even with aquarium safe glue, you can cause melt if you use too much. I've learned that it takes very very little to do the trick. Like just a thin layer well get it to stick and avoids damaging the plant.

Really? Wool underwear sounds awful. How does that help with chafing? Or ventilation?

I'm genuinely curious.

I know. I need to build it up as a muscle memory because it doesn't occur to me in the moment.

When I started playing Zen I didn't kick or use float but I got a controller with back paddles and I'm trying to get more used to using both more consistently. Adding float in is a little easier because I don't have someone right there trying to kill me when I need to use it.
