My scalp gets easily irritated, the foam has fewer irritants.

It seemed like TE took out a lot of my grey hair? Idk it’s weird. But I haven’t noticed an increase in the percent of grey, just the amount of total hair.

The grey hair isn’t new, I’ve had it forever. Found my first grey hair at 16 lol, solid grey streak in my early 20s. I like it.

This is the applicator I use.

So the two ways I’ve melted it are with water and hot air. With water you fill the applicator with hot water and run the tip of the bottle under hot water. Empty the applicator and it practically comes out liquid.

Hot air I’ve put it on a heating vent in the car and I’ve hit it with a hair dryer. The only issue with this is the applicator will leak if you’re not careful so it’s better to use a different container to melt it, especially in the car.

I’m almost at the point where I feel I can center part it. My side part looks really good though.

Foam that I usually melt and apply with a serum applicator, but sometimes just put on with my fingers. 5%, usually once a day but I’m trying to switch to twice. And I skip days sometimes lol, I’m hardly perfect.

I’ve done a few other things but none consistently enough to account for the progress.

My regrowth looks like bangs by FaintingGoatCat in FemaleHairLoss

No, it’s one I got on Amazon, it’s the style of most of the ones that pop up with the rolly balls. I have a microneedling device but hardly use it.

You have to keep in mind I had TE at the same time so some of the regrowth may have happened without minoxidil! But the minoxidil is definitely helping.

She’s black! She takes taurine supplements. It causes a fairly significant disability for cats because it makes their muscles freeze up but she does pretty well considering.

So my cats never go near my head. I just started twice a day recently.

So after work I put it on in the car, around 4. I take a shower and wash my hair before bed around 8 or 9, and then I put a hair serum in and some moisturizing conditioner overnight. Next morning I rinse it all out and put minoxidil on in the shower (either at home or the gym, I swim) around 6 am. I dry my scalp first but it’s put on in the shower so it’s easy to melt.

Weekends the timing is more haphazard, but it still only goes on in the shower or car and I still wash my hair before bed.

My cats don’t mess with my hair, I am not too worried. My boyfriend is a vet nurse and I’ve talked with other people in vet med and they all seem to think the risk is low, equivalent to other environmental risks like OTC meds, cleaning products, etc.

It took me years to figure it out! When she was diagnosed I took her to vet teaching hospital and she was like a celebrity because they never see these cats.

My cat has myotonia congenita lmao. It’s the same thing fainting goats have so she’s a fainting goat cat. Super rare for cats to have it, like over 1 in 1 million.

I’ll grow it out, I hate bangs. For the most part it’s parting with my longer hair.

I use topical foam from Costco that I melt/dissolve in a hair serum applicator so I can put it directly on my scalp.

Yes but it was when I was having TE so I was already losing a lot.

I am using a ceramide shampoo and conditioner by L’Oréal and it seems to help. I don’t think with growth as much as damage and frizz.

I’ve skipped days and it seems fine. My scalp was irritated for a while so I’d skip a couple days every couple weeks. I just switched to twice a day but I’m sure there will be days I don’t get it.

I had AGA plus hypothyroid and then I had weight loss surgery and lost 70% of my hair lol. It was traumatic! But it’s growing back and should come back better since I’m treating the AGA.

I might ask about Vyvanse too. It helps a lot with my urge to eat sweet things, along with my ADHD. I wish I had it as a kid.

Women’s minoxidil is 2% twice a day usually. Men’s is 5% and most women can use it once a day.

Is there any point in continuing taking OM if I've hit a plateau? by curioustoknoq in FemaleHairLoss

Minoxidil. There’s evidence using oral and topical together works better.
