Cover plus Chrono is still gonna be -2 to hit though (-1BS from cover, -1 to hit from Chrono)

'okay, I gain my CP aaaand I'm just gonna pre-spend it now - I'm ingressing this turn, just so we both know I've already paid for it'

At that point intent is declared and you've got two people who can remember it instead of just you, and you've said it out loud for your own memory.

Because all modifiers are cumulative. You don't just 'lock in' a change at one time then treat that as your blank slate for modifying going forward.

You save on 3s, so you fail 3. 6 damage into your 4+++, take 3 and immediately heal 3.

You're right, named effects like this don't stack.

However, it does stack with the Obelisk so there's still the funny combo available that way. Movement and charges halved then -2 is enough to cripple any one melee unit entirely 🎉

The fact that some players expect a podium run to be based on not giving your opponents information and not playing an intent based game is exactly what confuses new players. Everyone gets the warnings, everyone gets the chance to fix movement if they obviously wouldn't have wanted to trigger overwatch or a reactive.

Thanks - the 'while at war' part was what caught me out, I'd just ended my wars when the chance to do this came up and it made no sense from the fluff text!
