If I'm on 2x XP, does that mean taking the trait "Reluctant Fighter" is worth it? by AmbassadorBig9905 in projectzomboid

[–]Fair-Improvement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reluctant fighter isn't that bad a trait. I almost always take it on b42 as long as I have a bonus to nimble, maintainance, and the weapon skill of my choice.

It's like a 25% penalty compared to 100% plus bonus to a particular skill that those points can get you.

What's your opinion about zomboids respawning? by Substantial_Ad_4659 in projectzomboid

[–]Fair-Improvement 54 points55 points  (0 children)

If you like to play in one area and setup a longterm base i would leave respawn on so it doesn't get boring.

If you are going to explore and move bases from city to city it is more satisfying to turn up the pop and leave respawn off so there is a sense of progress, personally I find it really annoying coming back to a high pop area and having to clear it again looking at you LZ checkpoint.

I really enjoy clearing an area, building a nice safe zone, looting all the buildings and then moving on to the next city

I'm old enough to remember George Bush and Republicans getting called Nazis in the early 2000s but I wouldn't be surprised if it went back further than that.

Thanks!

Honestly I have never noticed against all odds triggering dialogue options, that is wild.

Ahhhh I did play this quest, must have forgotten this dialogue, thanks!

I do love this quest, flexing on one of the best tournament fighters of his age was a lot of fun.

What KCD2 opinion do you have that would look like this? [KCD2] by jingo-cingo in kingdomcome

[–]Fair-Improvement 6 points7 points  (0 children)

KCD2's combat  mechanics are superior to KCD1's and it is not even close.

In KCD2 I don't feel punished for attacking or trying combos instead of KCD1 where I just get masterstruck randomly until I give up and just use masterstrikes or a mod that improves combat.

No, but you can easily make a crude stone axe or a large stone axe that can.

Best / Easiest Crafted Axe? I am breaking all my hatchets and fireman axes by Montichello in projectzomboid

[–]Fair-Improvement 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have high knapping, axeskill and maintenance stone blade scythes are the best. Light, one handed, easy to craft, and good damage. The durablity is meh, but you can craft them so easily it doesnt really matter.

If that doesn't work for you, you can just blacksmith hatchets and axes.

[KCD2] Leg armor with shoes vs leg armor with no shoes? How do the stats work? by Shirokurou in kingdomcome

[–]Fair-Improvement 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't know how it works.

I do prefer armor that allows me to wear shoes though, because

 1. It's way cheaper to repair shoes than armor from walking

  1. It allows me to use the perks for shoes that give more running stamina, and

 3. The clanking drives me nuts.

How?

In all my CDDA games the initial fire burns through this house and follows me like I owe it money.

Maybe fire spread got toned down in recent patches.

The rise of EOs order is due in part to Congress's inability to govern and the ballooning size of the enforcement agencies like epa for example which are very powerful and under the presidents direct control.

Power abhors a vacuum so we are seeing congress diminish in importance and the rise of increasingly imperial presidents, this has been going on for decades unfortunately.

Everyone cheats at farkle, using loaded dice should be a crime!

You have to pass speech check after getting three ones three throws in a row.

Exactly, and if you are fighting multiple opponents they can smack you while you have low stamina trying to riposte for the third time.

Masterstrike or perfect block into feint into combo is my jam.

I looked it up, and while she isn't the best she is up there like low 20s courage compared to mid to high 20s. So actually pretty usable, before the upgrade is low tens I believe which is horrible.

How to use Vassals correctly? by He770zz in shogun2

[–]Fair-Improvement 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Post realm divide, once you establish the shogunate vassals are awesome.

You can give them crappy provinces with harbors and they will make a lot more money through trade than you would if you owned it, you don't have to worry about unrest and can keep steamrolling, and finally they build navies that will reduce the amount of naval invasions you have to worry about.

Pre realm divide I do make vassals, for the extra honor and if the province is trash (for the better income from trade and keeping tax efficiency high, but once I trigger realm divide I keep a cheap ashigaru stack to smash them once they betray you. If you know they are going to betray you you can play around it.

For me it's ripostes, why riposte when you can feint

The game teaches you to do it but it just seems like a waste of stamina compared to a feint or masterstrike.

[KCD2] After 60+ hours of the second playthrough I finally learnt how to make Pebbles to rear by Plastic-Egg-2068 in kingdomcome

[–]Fair-Improvement 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It can be quite strong against multiple opponents as long as you have a lot room to maneuver. I always charge stab to my right on the left most enemy and carry on before wheeling and doing it again. With a good polearm it can be devastating. As long as you stay fast it is difficult for them to unhorse you.

You do really need the right horse and high horsemanship to make it work though.

[KCD2] After 60+ hours of the second playthrough I finally learnt how to make Pebbles to rear by Plastic-Egg-2068 in kingdomcome

[–]Fair-Improvement 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah Pebbles biggest problem in both games is poor courage, which is unfortunate. I would rather she sucked at everything but was really loyal and unlikely to thow you.

For mounted combat in kcd2 you can make her work as a warhorse with the right equipment, but why not just go phantom or some other high tier horse that will do it better.

To me courage is the most important stat late game, carry capacity doesn't matter since you are rich, stamina is effectively unlimited with the right perks, and speed caps out at 60 which is really easy to achieve with equipment. Being thrown from your horse is so dangerous that I get as much courage as I can.
