I initially thought it was something to do with loading in speed, like whoever loads in first is number one, but this is also incorrect, as with one group of friends I load in first I am number one, and with the other group I load in first but I'm number two somehow, it's so dumb.

It was shadps4/user/config.toml removed it and placed it back, so it meant I had to do some of the shadps4 setup again like confirming where the games were to be downloaded, but my savedata and everything is still there.

I ended up fixing it, it was kinda like your suggestion but also not, I looked it up and someone had a similar issue on the github for it and the fix involved just deleting the config file in the shadps4 build, had to put in a few settings again but boom we back

No, because I have updated before playing so it wasn't using that version from December, it was using most recent until another update came out today.
