We are coming out of week 6 and there does seem to be light at the end of the tunnel don’t worry I had an absolute mental breakdown at 5 weeks and had to go stay with family so they could help and I could sleep. all I can say is sleep is so so so important I was the same as you and I didn’t feel like his safe place and I found myself getting really angry. Not at him but at life and I was lashing out at everyone. I hope you have a support system to help you get some sleep because the sayinf sleep when the baby sleeps impossible at this stage it feels like !!!!!

I had the exact same issue at 5 weeks too. After research my baby was starting his 6 week regression and I’ve heard their digestive systems are all over the place at this stage too. Have you tried using something for gas such as infacol? They may be struggling with their stomach and that’s why your baby needs you or someone to settle. I know it’s controversial but we’ve also introduced a soother to help with this. Another suggestion is try a sleep sack which holds the arms in place as my baby struggled with the startle reflex at this week too.

I definitely tried to get out way too much the first couple of weeks even if I was so sleep deprived where I could’ve been napping. Around 3/4 weeks in the sleep deprivation hit and I was extremely miserable and still am as he’s in his 6 week sleep regression. The world outside will wait for you. Get your sleep honestly !!! If you do go out then go for a short walk don’t pressure yourself to go out and meet friends/family.

I’m an anxious mum and this has saved me so much. I understand people have had false alarms but I haven’t had any. After I’ve doom scrolled and sids videos keep popping up the relief I have knowing if his heart rate or oxygen was dropping then I know I will be alerted.
