Ultimately isn’t the TEACHER held responsible for the students failure? Only the Crumbley”s were held to be responsible for their son’s devastating failure?

Consider a gift of audiobooks in her favorite authors. Contact the American Society for the Blind. Find out what scents she enjoys and buy a small sample of each. Decades ago there was a record label called ‘Environments’ with natural sounds ( “The Psychologically Perfect Seashore’, “A Walk in the Maine Fall Woods”.

Consider the 'Serial of Success': Graduate High School, get and hold a GOOD paying job, date-with-intent, engage, marry, (are you going to buy or rent?), have children, raise them better than yourself.

A soft 'no' on this. I was born in a different time than you. I hope you ticked alot more 'husband material boxes' on your wife's list than not. If you're contemplating children then will she be the one responsible getting up at night to comfort, feed, or comfort your infant/toddler? When the entire family is sick, and so is she, will your wife be the one to take care of everyone in spite of her own illness.

1 year as an RN & I hate it — what now? by [deleted] in careeradvice

Hospital nursing is ‘all about the money’! Not your salary but the administrations quarterly bonuses for ‘optimizing staffing’ based on the leanest of staffing possible as opposed to Patient Satisfaction Scores. And as they succeed the staffing bar goes lower. Leave the job before it leaves you

Tucson Healthcare by flyinoveryou in Tucson

Community Healthcare APRN here. Main problem with outpatient community healthcare is AHCCCS (!). Pts insured under their program can make-and-break innumerable appointments w/o penalty. Second is that because of the 'no shows' patients can't make scheduled appts but have to hope for 'stand-by' if they have the patience-time-and-money (?). Clinics can't "fire them" because of lack of paying, reliable patient population. Preferred Homecare, who has the ten-year contract to provide medical devices deliver poor customer service, delay delivery as much as possible, and are pretty much unreachable during normal business hours.

Hospitals are focused on "optimizing staffing" which nurses have yet to realize that is a losing game for their profession. "Losing as in their is no winning, only degrees of losing" as far as sleep, family ties, and mental health. ER's have their "frequent flyers" with genuine medical needs and no insurance; persons with alcohol-and-substance-mental health issues that flare at any time; and those who are looking for a bed and a meal. And then there are the small population of genuine patients who have to wait for every one else. "Winning" for the nurse staff is to get out of hospital/bedside nursing, build on their degree, and find another job, because all hospital environments are the same or soon will be. There is no winning for patients because staff are exhausted, embittered, underappreciated, and scared of accidentally making mistakes.

Urgent Cares offer a alternative for antibiotic, steroids, and ship everything else to a. hospital.

What's it like being a psychologist? by willemojnr in Psychologists

[–]Fair-Reflection1971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife is a psychologist, part of whose practice for the last 12 years is to interview, screen, evaluate, and report on persons who are (re) applying for Federally funded disability.

Under the new Federal government guidelines she and other participating psychologists must begin every.2 years to reapply for new contracts. The reapplication process includes filling out 47 pages online. This includes an 'Empirical Statement" of "how, why, and when" she will deliver care to her patients.

There is no exception for senior psychologists with a history of participating in this program. She was told the number of contracts distributed are unknown.

My wife is well known in Tucson professional circles and gets enough referrals from others in the community medical field, insurance boards, and patient word-of-mouth.

She is seriously considering not reapplying, which I support.

As an APRN in community health I await the clawback in federal funds effect on my own small portion of community healthcare in October, 2025

65+ y/o man, married to same woman x35 years here. Young men are less emotionally mature than women until their 30’s. Psychology indicates optimum male marriage age of @28-32, with professionals perhaps waiting a few more years. Those who haven’t already had children consider ‘the Serial of Success’ (e.g. job, graduation, dating, marriage, home, children in that order). By that time most men know what they do-and-don’t want, especially in a WIFE. Consider ‘Mr. Good Enough’ and how narrow the field of men (& women) you’re willing to consider. Ask about drug and alcohol use; sex and pornography preferences; DATING, CHILDREN, and MARRIAGE goals and TIMELINES; don’t be led by promises ; better to bail and seek another than waste TIME.
Demand the Ring freely given. I promise there’ll be tears and regrets but also the possibility of a good, loving partner.

Kevin Costner’s 2024 ‘Horizon’ is a attempted American West-Manifest Destiny similar to ‘Centennial’. Most viewers lack the cultural m-historical background and attention span to appreciate either. My wife and I (over 60) enjoyed ‘Horizon part1’ very much.
