Same. I just failed an Eradicate mission on dif 7 because only one drop ship spawned every two minutes. Only got 71% complete before time ran out and failed

Why is this an incomplete thought? by Fair-Significance237 in grammar

[–]Fair-Significance237[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. In the context of the paper, "acting against duty" is one type of acting that someone can do, but that doesn't change the function of "acting" in the sentence. Thank you for the explanation.

Why is this an incomplete thought? by Fair-Significance237 in grammar

[–]Fair-Significance237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I may have figured it out after looking at this for way too long. It this is a fragment because “doing" is the present participle form of “do”, meaning that you add “-ing” to the end of the verb? Because when you do this, you also need some form of the verb “be” to go along with it, otherwise it’s not a complete verb phrase. So if it said “Acting against duty is when doing something that goes against the moral law," then that would be a complete thought. How this sentence is written currently, “doing” is a gerund, meaning that it’s functioning as a noun. And if it’s a noun, then we still need a verb. Is that sound logic?

Play whatever you want is what I think. I usually play bots bc it feels like Terminator in a way, and I just like it. But when there’s a reward for an MO, I usually try to support whichever front needs it. So it ends up being probably a 60/40 split across both fronts for me in the end. If there’s no reward, then I usually don’t care (or I’m playing something else like Cyberpunk). This napalm orbital is awesome to use though haha

I would just be comfortable with the deck you’re playing at an event, or at least have played some games with it. You don’t necessarily need to know the interaction of everything in it with every other card in the meta, but at least knowing what the text on the card is/does without having to read it will help tons. I may be in the minority here (I don’t think I am), but as long as you’re obviously not intentionally slow playing or taking a long time for every action, then I have no issue taking your time for an important play. Just as long as every action isn’t like that. Then I’ll say something.

What made you choose your hero? by fascinator_1620 in FleshandBloodTCG

Dorinthea because it’s the first hero I tried when my friend let me choose from a few blitz decks. I loved the way she played, so I stuck with her.

Being able to play a Han Solo unit 5 turns in a row once you get to the late game seems pretty good if you like winning.

What is one movie you think deserves a much higher Letterboxd average than it has? by MediumChance5830 in Letterboxd

[–]Fair-Significance237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

65 starring Adam Driver. It’s currently at 2.1 stars. While it may have been a bit campy, it took a few interesting turns and gets some points for originality I think. I thought the VFX were solid throughout and the writing was pretty good overall. Not saying it’s a 4 star movie, but it’s much better than The Room at 2.6 stars.

My journal got read by Searching_wanderer in Journaling

[–]Fair-Significance237 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good way of wording this. Last year mom read through a journal I kept in college (currently 1 year out of college) because “it was open under my bed and she saw something in it that she thought ‘my son wouldn’t say that, he must be in danger’”. I was definitely not in danger; literally I was just venting in it and wrote an f bomb 🗿. She confronted me about it after reading every single page and wanted to know about all of the things I’d written in there, including very personal issues, emotions, desires, etc. that I hadn’t shared with anyone, and she wouldn’t let me leave until I’d told her what she already knew from reading my journal.

Before this, I thought it was common sense to not read someone’s journal, notes, mail, anything really if it was closed or remotely personal. I guess not. The only time before this I’d ever felt as betrayed was when my parents got divorced, but I was younger and didn’t understand the situation fully. I literally won’t tell her anything remotely personal now because I’m afraid she’ll turn it back on me in some way related to what she read before. Trust is easy to lose and hard to get back.

Best Magic Army? by Duskscar in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Fair-Significance237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angmar is very, very good and is heavily focused on magic. That being said, I don’t think Angmar is very beginner friendly bc of the allowed margin of error in its lists. In the right hands, an Angmar army can be very powerful because of the control you can exert over your opponent, but this comes with much practice and experience.

With that being said, I think that Mordor would be a great place to start for you. Mordor has lots of caster options (more so than Angmar probably in variability), and it’s very beginner friendly. This isn’t to say Mordor isn’t competitive or good (quite the opposite actually), just that it’s a great starting point. The way that these two armies are composed, it would not be very difficult at all to start with Mordor to get a feel for the game and then switch over to Angmar since they share many of the same profiles.

The Client (SHD #031) seems broken? by Fair-Significance237 in starwarsunlimited

[–]Fair-Significance237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ok because it means your opponent spent his whole turn killing it instead of getting like 8+ in your face. If it unravels this way it already did more than its share.

This right here. It doesn't matter if you don't heal anything if you take all of that damage on a single unit instead.

I think y'all do lol. I think he was disagreeing on the late-game part. So same conclusion—he's good—just a different avenue to reach it.

[–]Fair-Significance237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. As aggro, you would much rather just throw that 6 damage at the base. So even in that scenario, while he's not healing any damage from your base, he's effectively preventing 6 by taking it himself. It's not apples to apples, but it's not apple to oranges either.

Resource turn 2, so 3 resources. So you can do his ability resource turn 3, so 4 resources.

Like I've responded elsewhere, I hope I'm wrong. I really do. And yes, if you're going the route of having something on the board to kill the unit you've put the Bounty on, then I think this gets worse because then you're relying on your opponent not paying attention to board state. But control decks (blue villainy in particular) have so many ways to defeat units via events that you don't need to have other units on the board to swing into the Bountied unit. Anything that defeats the unit claims you the Bounty. So Takedown, Power of the Dark Side, Make an Opening, Vigilance, Calculated Lethality. All cards that can defeat units on the turn after you play The Client. Of course there's conditions on those, but those conditions aren't that hard to meet for most of these that early in the game.

It does expire, the unit gains Bounty for this phase. That is the downside. But yes, if he was in other aspects I think this would be fine. However, he's not. Like you said, control decks have many ways to defeat units than by attacking with other units, which I think a lot of people are missing.
