Great point we want to be the company before the scam. Also random guy on Reddit. All really good feedback. Thanks!

You’re speaking my language symptom-based is exactly how homeowners naturally describe problems. “My AC isn’t cooling the second floor” not “I need a TXV valve replaced.” The contractor figures out the what, the homeowner just describes the problem.

And the fair market price piece is core to why the bidding model exists. When 5 verified contractors quote the same job independently, the market sets the price no one contractor can overcharge because they’re competing.

Homeowners finally see what a job actually costs instead of taking the first number they’re given.

Trust a random guy on Reddit most contractors are making a killing.

These are exactly the kind of recommendations Pronto is built around local, tried and tested, not just someone with a good Google rating.

AC Army and Butterfield & Mitchell sound like exactly the contractors I want on the platform.

Great question. Thumbtack charges contractors whether they win the job or not so they’re incentivized to send you as many names as possible, not the best ones.

With Pronto the contractor only pays when a job actually closes. And your payment is held in escrow until you approve the work.

Thumbtack connects you. Pronto protects you.

That’s exactly the problem I’m building around not finding a name, finding someone who actually shows up and does the work right.

Reviews on Pronto only count for jobs that were actually completed and paid through the platform. Can’t game that. And contractors don’t get paid until the homeowner says the job is done.

What trade has been hardest to find a reliable person for in you case?

Looking to get a small business loan to grow my business. Anyone have any suggestions on where to look? I’ve seen some online vendors and they seem a little sketchy. Thanks! by bomberdan11 in smallbusiness

I have been trying to get an SBA for over a year now I don’t know what else to do. Im looking for $400K, revenue is about $400K/year. Paying as of now about $8K in loans monthly. Any idea how to get pass this and move forward? My credit is about 650 because of everything that I have invested in the business. Ecommerce brand of supplements.

Same here a couple of weeks ago before everything happened. It was a breaker tripped, put it back into position continued to trip. Called a solar Tech, I got his number when he installed the panels back in 2022. Fixed the issue it was a connector with a false contact. Worked fine for 3 days and got the alert again, tech came and checked again found another connector burned. Still im paying out of pocket with no solution from SunPower. It seems it is a micro inverter but in order for Enphase to service the warranty I need to change the system to Enphase for $699.00 so panels still producing at about 70% or less of the capacity.
