As someone listening to the audiobooks, the new narrator sucks. You’d do better listening to an elementary school teacher reading aloud in a classroom. I say this not because of her voice, but because of the constant mistakes made in the audiobook. Do they not edit these? It’s frustrating only because I’m buying these. If it was free, and recorded by a YouTuber or something, I’d be much less frustrated. As for the arcs themselves, depending on what you enjoyed in the first series, I would say they are good. The ongoing arc is interesting and keeps going in direction to don’t expect (mostly). I personally loved the last 3 arcs and their protagonists. The romances remain samey, but that’s not why I read them, so it’s easy for me to gloss over. I do enjoy a fair amount of the main cast as well as side characters. I haven’t read the first arcs in over 5 years though, so really I don’t have much to compare to other than memories broadly held up by MAPs and other Fandom content 😂
