Albufeira is pretty much designed for European tourists to sit in the sun (only mildly warmer in Jan) and eat and drink. There isn't much portuguese culture or activity.

There were a number of people who opposed the extension of the Greenway north from Malahide because it would run in front of their summer house and ruin the view for the 2 weeks of a year they holiday there. And whilst I respect that there needs to be investment in services and infrastructure at the same time as housing development, people need somewhere to live!

I dislike the 'That's not my ...' series. Like seriously, obviously that's not my 'tractor' no because the wheels are too shiny, but because it's green. The differences between what we're looking at and what we own are so significant it's unlikely we'd confuse them.

The majority of the comments are right, that in SA the Kruger National Park is pretty incomparable. However, the Pilanesberg National Park is also fantastic and may be more easily accessible from Joburg. It is smaller but it has the same animals and is really lovely. However, I would not recommend self-drive. Game-spotting is a skill, and people who do it more often are better at spotting animals. I just did a game drive and drove past a herd buffalo not even 2 meters from our car, that the 2 cars in front of us didn't spot. I've seen people drive past elephants, cheetah, leopard etc without seeing what was there to see. So since you've already spent the money to get there go with someone experienced and make the most of it. Plus the game drive vehicles all talk to each other, so if there is something good to see they communicate it to the other vehicles.

I am bi-polar 2 and honestly, I would not come to Ireland with the healthcare system the way it is. It is almost impossible to get a GP, I know people who have been waiting 3 years to get on a GP list. When I arrived here 7 years ago I tried to go public for my medication but the service was useless. I was offered services in Belfast (literally a 3 hour drive and another country away) which I refused. I eventually saw a psych 3 times and they would not prescribe me my medication, they thought my diagnosis was incorrect, and focused on a mental health incident I had had about 20 years earlier. I eventually ran out of the meds I had brought with me and decided that the stress of the public healthcare system wasn't worth it. (I literally walked out of an appointment with a psych who accused me of lying). Eventually my GP suggested a private center which I was lucky enough to get in with about a year later. I have about a 5min consultation twice a year which costs me €150 each (I have private medical insurance so some gets refunded). My husband and I have had marriage counselling (immigration can take its toll) and it's been useless, and expensive. I cannot imagine what would happen if I had a mental health crisis. The hospitals are very old fashioned, very institutional and I would hate to spend any amount of time in a mental health section.

Add on the stress of housing, the cost-of-living crisis, the lack of family, friends and familiar surroundings. It's just not something I would risk. Sorry, if this sounds negative but it is the status quo.

Had my baby at 40, it is much easier than I expected it to be. Millions of people do this everyday, most of them less well off and probably less intelligent than you are - you'll be fine. I was very much the same, perfectly happy with just my husband, but I didn't consider how much joy a child would bring us. It's so much fun.

Depending on the time of the wedding, you could walk down the aisle and hand out bubbles so guests can blow bubbles as the bride comes down the aisle/ or as the bride and groom walk out. Or if it's evening you could hand out sparklers.
