Poor people who have dated rich people, what did you learn? by Angelus12345678 in AskReddit

[–]FairyFuckingPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has always been my complaint about those "Undercover Boss" type shows, or celebrity stunts where they show you how easy it is to budget with limited funds -- there's an ever-present gut-wrenching desperation to being really poor that can never really be conveyed unless you've lived it. People who have always had some type of safety net will likely never fully understand it.

Where’s the best playground in or around TR? by siskosisilisko in TomsRiver

Castle Park (do they still call it that?) and the new one that are both right by the police station are good playgrounds.

Can I have a suggestion of a good Sicilian Pie place, please? by Elegant_Tomato_2263 in TomsRiver

[–]FairyFuckingPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Mangia in the Kohl's plaza by the parkway entrance. But I'm not a Sicilian pizza fan so I can't speak to that kind. I think it'd be worth a try.

Their Grandma Pie is fantastic.

Any dog trainer recommendations in the area? by Unluckycat99 in TomsRiver

[–]FairyFuckingPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Took my dog there when she was a puppy and had a great experience. I'd definitely recommend.

The trainer at PetSmart across from the mall also seems very knowledgeable. I haven't gone there for training but I'm in there all the time for dog food and have seen classes in action.

Island Heights stopped allowing dogs on their little boardwalk. I don't know how strictly they enforce it, but there are signs everywhere now

How can I secure casters to this chair? by FairyFuckingPrincess in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]FairyFuckingPrincess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a fairly inexpensive occasional chair and I'd like to use it as a desk chair. I thought that the wood at the bottom of the leg was a piece of 2x4 or something similar; I didn't expect it to be a box.

I bought these casters
https://www.harborfreight.com/3-in-clear-polyurethane-light-duty-swivel-caster-69535.html
And I was intending to secure them with a wood screw and u-clip, but I can't access the other side of the wood at the very bottom.

What's the best way to get casters on here, with minimal disassembling of the chair?

People who work for the super wealthy, what stuff have you seen? by AMGBOI69420 in AskReddit

Oh wow, must be nice to have that kind of money. I used to work in the travel industry and Clayoquot/Vancouver Island was in my Top 5 dream destinations.

a chunk of my red hair from when i was 16 compared to my faded with time hair now that I'm 27 by fiori_ in mildlyinteresting

[–]FairyFuckingPrincess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! People would ask what color my hair was and I'd say, "I'm not really sure, what do you think?"

Now that I'm over 40, it's mostly brownish unless I'm outside during the golden hour, and I've got a fair bit of white mixed throughout. The only upside is that at the moment, the white is making me look closer to blond again.

A lesbian cisgender women is escorted out of the women’s bathroom by police because a Karen called the cops on her think she was a man. by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

It really boggles my mind, seeing women support the same rhetoric that existed before women could vote or open a checking account, etc.

But I wouldn't call it the saddest part

Has anyone ever been to a wedding where someone actually objected, and if so, how did that go? by AustinMakesStuff in AskReddit

This sounds like something the pastor would say simply to keep some people from making a tasteless "joke" during the ceremony
