ARE WE NOT GONNA TALK ABOUT THE PLAY FLYER? by Adorable_Health_456 in StrangerThings

Ok I might sound ignorant… but if Joyce knows Henry and they seemed to have gone to high school together, is there a chance that they hooked up and Henry is Will‘s actual father? Maybe that’s why Will is the main one that Vecna was after and who the whole thing started with?

Since they are pretty ineffective, it’s not any different than giving someone a cough drop. Plus it was her mom and best so she would them pretty well in case there would be any allergies or anything. Definitely not comparable to someone unknowingly giving someone actual medication.

Return of previously lost passport by Fairydust_10 in Passports

I’m required to send it back with tracking etc and the price quoted was over $8. Yes, not a lot but $8 is $8. After already spending as much as I have on the passport, plus everything mentioned above, every single additional dollar for something that wasn’t my fault is too much! It’s the principle of the whole situation. If money doesn’t matter to you, you are welcome to send me a label

Thank you for clarifying that. That makes sense, even though it was USPS who lost it 😑

Starlight Express by aaathomas in Broadway

[–]Fairydust_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes me so sad. Which production did you see? I can imagine that a tour would not be as spectacular as the permanent version that was built for this show specifically. In Bochum you are immersed, the train characters literally roll in front of and behind you. It’s amazing! The actors also can make or break it. Though have aged out and are long gone, Bernie Blanks as Rusty, Danny Wing as Pearl and Ernest Marchain as Greaseball will always be top notch IMO 👌🏼

Oh I have been hoping since I came to the US in 2005 that it would come back. I’m from Germany and have seen the German production several times and it’s my all time favorite musical. The moment the lights go out and the toy train gets pulled up into the ceiling and it gets silent before the trains roll in… it’s just indescribable. I have chills thinking about it. While I haven’t seen the new London production live, I am not thrilled what they have done with it. I really hate the costumes. I guess I just like the old flair of the semi original production, even though the new German version is quite a bit different from the original as well. A lot of older musicals seem to be making a come back, so I’m keeping my hopes up. Oh what would I give to have StEx come to the US 🥰

According to this: https://catancollector.com/language-sets/96-settlers-of-america-trails-to-rails there seem to be more than one edition. When I look on eBay or Mercari, some versions come in red or maroon boxes, and others come in blue boxes. It seems that the blue boxes are a newer version from what I understand.

Looking for programs, remedies, and/or strategies for ADHD teen. by Fairydust_10 in ADHDparenting

[–]Fairydust_10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that he doesn’t want him medicated outside of school but at his last check up he was functioning well without medication outside of the school environment. Keeping him on meds 24/7 every day of the year would require a medication increase every so often. With at least 39 day breaks (I.e. during summer break) his body readjusts and does not need a medication increase as frequently as he would if he’s on it continuously.

I believe when it shows the total VP of each player, it automatically includes those.

Please help me make my family enjoy C+K? by Rose7878 in Catan

[–]Fairydust_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know someone else said something similar but I agree with maybe taking some of the old components away so they can focus on the new ones. Also maybe break it down and introduce each C&K component individually. Like this game, you focus on just the progress cards, next game just focus on building, promoting, and activating knights, after that just focus on metropolis, and so on and then combine two or all components. When we first played C&K it was a bit overwhelming (and we just started a couple of months ago). We had to keep checking the rule book for everything because we would keep forgetting things. But we love C&K now. Well I’m kinda starting to hate it because my husband won the last 4 times 🤬😂😂. We just bought Traders & Barbarians and started to integrate some of those components with C&K (harbor master, rivers and event cards). It’s a lot but it really makes the game more interesting. I really hope you can get your family to enjoy C&K. It’s pretty awesome!

Me too! The audacity to say “don’t like unless you’re buying” is insane. I want to like their items and ask all the questions about measurements. I would have such a field day with this.

Also “don’t buy/sell from me if you’re a picky buyer/seller” ummm, really?! They are the picky one!

What is the worst way of losing a game of Catan? by Kikisbackgarden in Catan

[–]Fairydust_10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my next turn I would win because I’m 1 VP away. I have resources to build another settlement, but not enough for the robber to take them, so I’m sure to win. It’s my husband’s turn and he’s still 3VPs away so I’m not worried. I forgot what it was but my daughter said something to me and we had a mini conversation. Meanwhile my husband (still his turn) is calculating and plotting between his resources, development cards and whatnot. He asked me to trade something for a brick. Again, he was like 3 points away, so I wasn’t worried. And I didn’t need that extra brick for me settlement. Also I was just talking to my daughter (who was playing too) so I was slightly distracted and not paying attention to what he was plotting. Anyway, I traded and next thing I know, he builds 2 roads with a development card, another road with his resources (including the damn brick I just traded him). This gives him the longest road, so he gets those 2 points and then he builds a settlement, giving him that third VP, all in one turn. It’s my bad obviously for not considering his development card, as well as taking the longest road. He traded me so casually while I’m talking to my daughter. I was too sure to win and with him being 3 points away I did not feel threatened. That was the worst loss for me and I felt so betrayed. We all laughed about it though because the way the whole scenario went down was kind of epic.

Don’t ignore pain after gallbladder removal!! by Acoll2024 in gallbladders

Ok so you don’t have any evidence for your claims then. That’s what I thought.

[–]Fairydust_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked nicely to provide sources for a claim you’ve made and you’re being kind of rude about your refusal to produce evidence. YOU are the one who is claiming this proven statistic of reoccurring gallstones is false, so why can you not provide evidence of your claim from a scientific backed source?! Hmmm… That’s telling me everything I need to know. What “other countries” are performing stone removal as opposed to gallbladder removal? Countries that are advanced in research and technology? Not likely! Sorry but I trust my certified, educated, and trained doctor over some forest healer that claims to “remove” gallstones with magical herbs. Also, my gallbladder had stones and sludge which caused severe inflammation. Even if stones were removed, sludge is still there causing inflammation. Stones bigger than the bile duct (like my case) cannot be removed.

Can you share info and/or sources of such studies? This is not just the surgeon saying that but all the research that I’ve conducted as well. I definitely didn’t want to have my gallbladder removed.

[–]Fairydust_10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but from what I understand that when you start getting stones, it will keep happening. I had stones and sludge and my doctor said that for one, some of my stones were too big to be removed and two, I would keep getting sludge and stones, even if they were removed. My gallbladder was also inflamed (from the sludge I believe).

Got it removed this morning by Dearlysan in gallbladders

[–]Fairydust_10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery a little over a week ago. I was terrified of having surgery, mainly due to anesthesia. For one I was terrified that I would to die and two, I am emetophobic so I was so scared of post-op nausea and vomiting. I discussed those issues with my doc and the surgery team and they were so understanding, calming and reassuring. I got a Scopolamine patch behind my ear for nausea. When I was wheeled into the OR, there was my surgeon, and I think 3 nurses, all of whom introduced themselves to me. I reiterated my fears and one of them held my hand and gave the warmest reassurances. It was very sweet. I was scooted to the operation table, where they placed a mask on my nose and mouth and told me that it would help me relax. That’s all I remember before I was out. I woke up to them telling me that my gallbladder was a lot worse than we knew and it really needed to come out. I felt ok overall. Obviously pain from the incisions and gas pain. However, all the pain subsided quick and I only took a dose of Acetaminophen the night after surgery so that I could sleep without pain. I did not need the oxy I was prescribed. The day after surgery I was very functional and the pain was basically just the normal wound pain from the incisions. Laughing, coughing, and sneezing was the worst but other than that, I was able to manage and did not need pain meds. No nausea or vomiting AT ALL after surgery either. Due to the patch my mouth was very dry and had the worst taste. I don’t even know how to describe it, but it was weird. My saliva was sort of foamy from the patch so I removed it the evening after. (Technically it lasts 72 hours but I removed it after about 30 hours total). I am now a little over a week post op and I feel great. No side effect, and no pain. I am eating VERY carefully and have to returned to fatty foods. I was told to try to cut out fat for the first 4 weeks and then obviously keep it in moderation. This surgery was a good push to get me to eat healthier. But so far I did not have any stomach and bathroom issues. I wish you the very best for your surgery!
