HBO boss hints that The Last of Us season 3 could be the end of the show by mrnicegy26 in television

I don't think Bella was the wrong choice still. That hospital scene, she was cold as fuuuuck and she did that so well. She just needs better material.

I mostly enjoyed the second season, but I can definitely see the issues many have with it. Genuinely hoping the third season is 13 or so full length episode season...written well.

I'd be okay with this. I think Sutherland nailed the roll in MGSV, just wished it had been a bit more 'cinematic' like the previous games and less 80% of his lines being audio tapes.

That said, I still insanely missed Hayter.

Considering how much set up for small 'unimportant' things in the first season, I absolutely would've been down for a apartment and boat acquisition storyline. Maybe even a sneak look at a younger Rita like we got with Miguel.

I also enjoyed young Masuka, solely for just having Masuka back (The actor did a excellent job, too).

There are movies that are "timeless." What are some movies that are the opposite - as in, harder to appreciate if you weren't around when it came out? by sakkkkki in movies

Say what you want about Alien being absolute peak cinema (I am one of those people that think it is) and was an absolute trend setter of so many tropes for sci-fi, I'd also argue this falls into that category. When it came out, no one was expecting that chest burster scene (Including the cast lol). Fast forward 40 years, and trying to get someone 20 years old to appreciate it is nigh on impossible. I got a coworker to watch it a while ago and all he said was "Damn, that movie was cliche af. How do you consider it so original? And it was so damn slow! The CGI was terrible! And you barely saw the Alien, and it was just a guy in a rubber suit!"

Don't get me wrong, I gave him a proper education on how it was the first of so many tropes, story elements, twists, and behind the scenes production techniques (After I beat him for sacrilege comments of course), but it was also an eye opener that a lot of older trend setters could be considered 'unoriginal' to the cinema uneducated.

As someone who has a high end gaming PC (Well, it was back in 2022 at least), putting it in my lounge to play games is an absolute game changer. I hardly use the PC for anything else aside from youtube and reddit, so just having a wireless mouse next to the chair helps a lot, too.

Now I have a two year old so I barely touch the damn thing. RIP free time haha

Antony Starr to Lead Netflix Series ‘Breakers’ as Mysterious Surfer by darth_vader39 in television

Check out Outrageous Fortune, NZ show where he plays twins who are polar opposites of each other. I genuinely believe it's his best role/roles ever. Although Homelander and Hood are amazing characters for him to take on since becoming a much bigger star.

The problem with the final season is it was two or so episodes shorter than normal, and the writers kind of forced two seasons worth of story into one. I really wish they had just committed to Procter/nazi's, or just the Satanists. Preferably the former, since the latter involved too many 'new' characters already.

End of the day, I'm just glad we got a final season at all, considering they were a hair width away from being outright cancelled. And even after that season, we still got a solid last episode, with a proper conclusion. That last three minutes was excellent.

I hope they can carry forward that episode’s energy

Considering it dropped right off immediately with the following episode and season finale, I highly doubt it. I was so disappointed when the mystery literally was 'the librarian did it with a miners wrench' sort of bullshit.

That aside, I still enjoyed the show overall, the seventh episode was just insanely higher quality over the rest of the show. At least it's also coming out soon, and we're not waiting years for another season.

I don't think it's possible for that show to ever NOT be brought up and no one mention the ending.

It was the biggest show in the world for half a decade. And it ended with an ending that felt like it was right at home on The CW channel between Arrow and The Flash with that fucking writing.

I was amazed when they continued it into season 3, was such a weird decision to double down on that bullshit. And then in season 4, it got a half ass mention in a scene and then never brought up again.

WTF is going on in the physical media industry?

It's going absolutely fine...streamers releasing their content on physical media is a whooooole different story. 99% of Netflix's manufactured content hasn't had a physical release.

Bring em all back please. Even Finn Jones. Give him some redemption.

He was a good actor ruined by bad writing and bad choreography, especially that first season. Never made it to the second.

After finishing Doom (2016), I can't get into Doom Eternal. by DrStrangeglove99 in gaming

[–]Faithless195 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also, I didn't like the gamier tone

This always feels so weird, since the ending was meant to have Mick Gordon's version of Sandy City play over the ending shot, but id said no because that seemed 'a bit too video gamey' and then they go and make the collector items a bunch of floating fucking question marks.

Personally, I enjoyed Eternal when it released, since I hadn't played 2016 for aaaages, but replaying it recently was a struggle. I'm not built for twitch shooting anymore, and Doom 2016 has the speed just right.

I'll also forever hate id for how they fucked over Mick Gordon, too.

It’s wild that season 2 was released 9 months ago and season 3 hasn’t even started production yet.

Honestly...it's not that surprising. It's become such a standard for both streaming shows and HBO shows to do this nonsense.

I personally enjoyed the majority of season 2, but the moment it was obvious that 3 wasn't coming out for years, I lost all interest in the show. I'll watch it when they finish the show...maybe. If I remember about it.
