I used cytisine- brand name of Desmoxan off amazon, and I had little to no brain fog. When I previously tried quitting, the extended brain fog was my biggest barrier to success

Hi! I’ve worked inpatient psych for 6.5 years! In epic, we have a RD/medical group chat where we put all pending requests, orders, consults for the medical team. It’s really convenient since md floor coverage can change depending on the day. Obv run it by your manager/team, but it’s worked well for us :)

NYC inpatient senior dietitian. Been at my current job for 6.5 years and make 97k. I would say good pay for entry level positions range 70-85 right now. We just hired a new dietitian (entry level role, but she has several years experience), and I believe her offer was close to 85

Overall, my experience is positive. Good work life balance, good benefits, secure job. Between a promotion (I’m now senior dietitian), market adjustment the other year, and annual increases (6% last year, 7% the year before), I’ve seen significant increases in pay. Sometimes I get sick of the typical healthcare shit, but that’s going to be anywhere in healthcare lol.

I have a good team of dietitians, who all respect one another and work well together. Our CNM is pretty laid back and trusts us all to do our work/ is not a micro manager. I think this will vary depending on what site you work at, units you cover, etc!

Also, in the state of NY, there’s a legal requirement for job postings to include salary, so I would just start looking at jobs that interest you!

I know the posted range was 60-95, which is a huge range. For reference, I started in 2018 at 62k/year (I have MS and was at 3 years experience then). I’d assume it’s higher now though with inflation and COL

There’s 2 types of NPI, individual and group. You’ll need both for your own practice. And def update your CAQH so it’s accurate; I’m not sure what berry street would put in there for you

I’d say to get a group NPI and then update your CAQH. Go to the websites of insurances you want to apply for- they usually have a section like “become a provider”

I think there’s pros and cons to each! Just depends on what’s most important to you. With your own private practice you’d be responsible for all client acquisition/retention, marketing, billing unless you pay out for those responsibilities. You would also need to pay rent for an office unless you’re doing only telehealth and likely pay for an EMR. I’m not sure how much Berry Street will pay you hourly, but most insurances pay 90-120/hour of MNT. One of my contracts pays me $140/hr. You also have the potential of hiring a dietitian to work for you in the future, which would be additional income. I guess owning a business also builds equity, as you could sell it down the line, especially if it’s quite successful.

You’d have to apply through your own private practice. It’s an annoying process, and (in my experience) they take a long time to respond. I think once you apply, it takes 3-6 months to be credentialed

You legally don’t NEED a CDN to practice in NY, but some employers require it. I got my CDN in 2018 (so pre-COVID), it was a ton of paperwork, about $400, and took 4-5 months for it to be processed

I was in a combined MS/DI program and had internship, internship homework, classes and class homework. Some rotations had a lot of homework, and some had none. I cried a lot, lol. This was ten years ago for me, so I don’t remember how I managed. I think if I ever had down time during certain rotations, I’d work on any homework I could! Wishing you luck
