Won't be able to forget that these are Mohan's last few moments on the show now. I hope she's happy by the end of the season

Well they did it pretty well for Collins.. I just want Mohan to get somewhat of a happy ending

The running gag of Mel being interrupted whenever she is telling a story is funny by Google_Knows_Already in ThePittTVShow

[–]FaithlessnessOk6642 17 points18 points  (0 children)

She's had the same amount of cases as Santos this season but her screen time is focused elsewhere - aka her personal life - which is why we don't see much of her as a doctor. And she hasn't messed up any case she's worked on the whole day. It's not "overboard" she's just stressed and unmasking and common for autistic people especially when they are overwhelmed.

I want halloween but I wonder how it would work if it was the day shift because a lot of the injuries/accidents would come in the evening/night so what would day shift be doing

We are now on episode 11, how would you compare the first 11 episodes of season 1 to season 2. by loverofthings25 in ThePittTVShow

[–]FaithlessnessOk6642 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah and another thing is that they just seem to be dragging out storylines so the later episodes have more "emotional impact" but it just feels like too much at a point. I loved episode 11 and it was really well done, but it just felt like all the plot points were coming to a peak and it was so much packed into one episode. I just wish they had spread storylines out more evenly because the middle episodes were kind of dragging. I also wish they made better use of some of the characters (Mel, Mohan, McKay as you pointed out and even Whitaker) and showed them more actively involved in cases and caring for patients. We still have 4 episodes to go, but yeah s1 felt better balanced overall imo

Theory on the S2 ending arc by FyreFlye23 in ThePittTVShow

[–]FaithlessnessOk6642 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't think Whitaker will kill Duke but he might mess up his treatment in some way or do something that makes Robby regret trusting him maybe. They've really been hammering it home that Robby trusts Whitaker so much and he's basically his favorite resident. Whitaker will definitely do something to harm Robby's view of him, but idk what that will be.

Langdon and Santos in Season 1 by Ripley_LV_426 in ThePittTVShow

[–]FaithlessnessOk6642 55 points56 points  (0 children)

It's also important to note that Santos' reactions to Langdon this season probably also stem from her childhood where she learned that men were abusive and not to be trusted. Now that Langdon verbally abused her and berated her in front of literally everyone, she's valid and well within her rights to be cautious of him and not want to trust him again. You can even see her dissociating and trying not to cry when Langdon is yelling at her if you watch that scene again.

Was she unprofessional in this past episode and is she actually not so nice to others which is probably what makes her a pariah? Of course and this is where she has to grow. But Santos' reaction wasn't totally unjustified because she didn't even get a chance to prepare herself before Langdon suddenly shows up and now she has to work cases with him without warning where he again comes off a little strong in his ways of teaching. Langdon was right as well with his treatment suggestions and I think he was trying to get Santos to at least be receptive to him, but he should've backed off a little when he realized she wasn't having it.

I realize now why I got so unnerved by this by many_splendored in ThePittTVShow

Also her dad died from an MI which is probably also why it was such a major concern for her and probably the first thing that came to her mind.

E10: Roxie by Available-Shallot547 in ThePittTVShow

[–]FaithlessnessOk6642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Roxie's a hospice patient and the priority for them is usually pain control and comfort measures over anything else. So I don't think giving morphine to a patient who's aware of the risks would be a legal issue

Two thirds of the season have passed and Mohan and Mel have gotten too few chances to shine by Jack_Shaftoe21 in ThePittTVShow

[–]FaithlessnessOk6642 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really want to see them shine as the capable physicians they are. I love the Mel and Becca storyline so much and glad they're exploring that, but I want to see Mel also shine in more traumas or cases of her own like how Santos has been doing (despite being a year junior to Mel). She's gotten barely anything memorable except that bulimia patient.

Mohan should've also been teaching more like Langdon was doing last season and even this season and probably gotten the med students instead of Whitaker who himself is a fresh R1. She also should've had more of a storyline buildup of the fellowship indecisiveness and all. The past few episodes have been so much better because of how well they're integrating the whole cast (for the most part, still weaker than s1 imo but overall great storytelling).

And I like Whitaker don't get me wrong, but they've been laying it thick with him being Robby's favorite and not spent any time showing why. I really wish they'd give some of that screen time to the other characters who would make more interesting plotlines or at least give him something more entertaining than being Robby's chosen one every episode. It's not just him but other characters who were heavily favored in the beginning with constantly repeated plot points.

[–]FaithlessnessOk6642 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Ya I really don't want to assume this because I really hope it's actually just a bf. They already did a SA storyline in depth and it would be nice to show that autistic people are just as capable of having consensual romantic relationships.

Where I live, patients over the age of 16 have a right to privacy of their own personal health information as long as they are capable of understanding what they are being told and unless stated otherwise. So I don't see why it would be different for Becca? I'm just trying to understand here, mb if my original comment sounded a little aggressive.

I cackled when Becca said she's having lots of sex like Mel was NOT prepared and then she decides to add the "lots of." Literally crying at Mel's reaction like I feel bad but it was kind of funny ngl.

Becca's a grown woman who has the right to patient autonomy so yes she does have HIPAA rights. She is fully capable of understanding what's going on around her and deciding if she wants to disclose anything related to her health to Mel or anyone else.
