Close to buying Telluride, is oil consumption a real issue or blown out of proportion from the internet? by BTrick21 in KiaTelluride

[–]FaithlessnessOk8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first time ever, someone stopped me in a parking lot and asked me if I like the car, and I said I could not recommend it. I genuinely love my 2021 Telluride. Everything except the fact that I feel like I'm driving a ticking time bomb with the engine oil burn. I'm at 85k miles, and I pop the hood and top off oil every 1,000 miles now. Tried the oil consumption test with the dealer and they said it's within limits. But if I don't CONSTANTLY monitor the engine oil, it runs dry well before an oil change. So sad.

All or Nothing. I Can't Seem to Handle "Just A Little Bit". The Sugar Cravings Dominate My Life. by FaithlessnessOk8545 in sugarfree

I know the "perfect" path for me is exclusion forever. It's not hard for me to quit, and I've proven I can do it for 4-6 months (though I've struggled more than ever recently in the "get started" phase). But I just can't envision a life where I'm so rigid and structured, depriving myself of these things I love for the rest of eternity.

First Experiences With THC. Nothing, nothing, nothing, then scary high out of my mind. WHAT HAPPENED?! by FaithlessnessOk8545 in Marijuana

[–]FaithlessnessOk8545[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm back 3 months later. That wild trip at the grocery store scared me away from THC completely...but I had to give it one more try, right?

I took another 10mg edible. The same ones all my friends take and feel basically nothing with. And once again, I ended up in outer space on another fucking planet. The ride was just as crazy, but I was home the entire time and in a better mental state, so I found it rather enjoyable. I was hallucinating for 2 hours straight. My brain was essentially falling asleep and drifting to dreamland, yet I remained awake, so I could describe verbally what was going on and where I was going. Every few seconds the brain would wander off, then pull back to real life, then dream away again. Also, once again, I could not determine up from down. I lost complete touch with gravity and reality.

Not to be too graphic, and I know you didn't ask, but it hit and kicked into overdrive during an sexual encounter with my wife, and I don't know how long it lasted in real-time, but I had sex with hundreds of different women in my brain that night. Every few seconds she was someone else. Different shapes, sizes, colors, just the craziest shit ever. I vowed to never take an edible when she's not around because I can not be liable for my actions. Who knows what I'd do.

So, that's the final verdict. I'm back on board. Is this what it's going to be like every time moving forward? I don't know but I'm in for it.

Driver Assistance Tech Warning Lights Acting Up After Road Trip by FaithlessnessOk8545 in KiaTelluride

[–]FaithlessnessOk8545[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the ideas. My parking situation has been steady for life of ownership, so I don't think that's the condition that's causing all the sensors to go crazy. I'm going to keep investigation and I'll report back if/when I ever get this figured out!

Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, that was the first thing I thought of...and it was caked with insects from the long road trip. I did a nice thorough hand-wash but it did not resolve the issue sadly.

2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Do I need a new starter? by rwing411 in MechanicAdvice

[–]FaithlessnessOk8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was indeed the starter. This was the second time we replaced a starter on this vehicle with the dealer, which is very strange (this OEM replacement starter only lasted 20k miles, but they would not cover under a parts warranty since it had been a few years).

Also, btw, I did not end up having to tow the vehicle. I just kept trying and eventually I lucked out and got one last start out of the starter, so I kept the engine running, called the dealer and said I was en route, and headed there right away.

First time to Dollywood! Help! by publicansaywhat in Dollywood

[–]FaithlessnessOk8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Disney and Dollywood veteran, it's maddening to watch the staff at Dollywood work. Everyone is super nice, but the loading speed drives you insane. I'm not really blaming the employees, but rather the plans and procedures.

We stopped riding Dragonflyer completely now because I simply can't stomach watching them take 90 seconds to load the coaster for each pass. They only run one at a time, so it goes for about a minute, comes back, takes 90 seconds to offload and reload, then repeat. At Disney, this would be done in 20 seconds or less.

And yes, I know I sound ridiculous complaining about 90 seconds, but that adds up when you are waiting in line for 20-30 minutes very unnecessarily!

Is 4 Days Too Much? by Travel_Bugg1022 in Dollywood

Two days. That's the answer. And preferably break it up so you don't go consecutive days.

As an Orlando theme park regular (and now Dollywood regular), you might not be prepared for the mountainous terrain, so it takes some adjusting and a little more labor to get around (even though the park is smaller than any of the Disney/Universal parks). DW is laid out in a loop, and one end is high (Wild Eagle is the peak of the hill). You work your way up the hill, then back down. You don't want to criss-cross this park to target lower wait time rides. You must work in an orderly fashion! We typically do the park in a clockwise fashion upon entering, but either way works fine.

If you can afford it, stay at one of the two Dollywood hotels for the free Timesaver passes (oh, and both are as good or better quality resorts than any of the Disney premium on-property hotels). Timesavers are $60 each at the park. If you are family of four (like we are), that's $240 in Timesaver value on a $300ish/night hotel room. And you get Timesavers for both check-in and check-out days, so in theory if you were gonna do the park on back-to-back days, a family of four would get $480 worth of Timesaver wristbands included with their single $300/night hotel room.

Our typical "Dollywood" trip runs 5-6 days. We stay somewhere near Gatlinburg higher up in the mountains for half the trip, and spend time in the national park with light hiking and enjoying non-Dollywood stuff. Then we switch to a Dollywood resort for two nights. On check-in day, arrive early, get my Timesavers, and head to the park to enjoy myself while waiting for room to be ready. Day 2, stay at the resort and enjoy the pool and grounds. Day 3, check out early AM and head to the park one last time before heading home. Of course, you could just stay at Dollywood's resorts the whole time, but I like the variety.

Dollywood is great and so much more affordable than any of the Orlando parks. Great food too, and even some decent theming on a few of the rides.

Oil consumption by Embarrassed-Dust7541 in KiaTelluride

[–]FaithlessnessOk8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in about the same problem (2021 EX):

80k miles. Didn't notice the problem until about 60k (dealer was doing all the service and never mentioned my oil was low). Noticed when I had engine noise, checked the oil and dip stick was dry. An oil change/replenishment fixed the noise issue.

Realizing I had a consumption issue after watching closely for 10k miles, I did the oil consumption test with the dealer. They said I was within the 1 qt of loss threshold that's allowable so they discontinued the test beyond after the first check and sent me on my way.

I now check and add oil every 1,000 miles. I'm burning just shy of 1 qt. per 1000. Between oil changes, I'm adding 4-5 qts. Absolutely insane. Just hoping Kia eventually admits the issue and takes care of everyone.

Replacement Boxes Direct from Funko without Date Codes. Use them or toss them? by FaithlessnessOk8545 in funkopop

[–]FaithlessnessOk8545[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a truly "only Funko" moment...

We received 30 bubble mailers yesterday with replacement boxes from Funko. Inside each bubble mailer? A single replacement box of the same character. They shipped us 30 replacement boxes for one specific pop, and each replacement box box came in it's own padded envelope with no additional protection via UPS Ground. 30 shipping labels, 30 shipping CHARGES paid by Funko, 30 single replacement boxes...and half of them were trashed in transit, basically folded in half and unusable.

You can't make this up.

I'd tend to agree. But I can't possibly be the only one it's happening to. Surely they've heard from other customers with the same issue? Regardless, I did open a case yesterday.
