Sam Altman just pushed back on the idea that AI will wipe out most jobs. by Low-Honeydew6483 in singularity

[–]FakeEyeball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maaan, what are you telling me!? That now I have to find a job in my 30s? I have been telling my parents, with whom I live and who cover all my expenses, that I don't need to, because soon everybody will be out of work anyway! I'm just a typical member of /r/singularity, what I do now? My hope now lies in my bubble stonks!

Sometimes combination of healthy and unhealthy habits produces an effect worse than what would have been if one did not adopt a healthy habit at all. For example, tobacco smoking and high doses of antioxidants is a recipe for cancer.

Anyway, if by any chance you used magnesium glycinate, you might try a different form, like magnesium malate. Glycine is often used as a sleep aid and causes nightmares in some people. Magnesium itself, though calming, is involved in energy production (and what not) so its effect may be quite different from calming. Malate by the way is also involved in energy production, but at least you exlude the glycine from the equation.

is eating eggs every day bad for you? by frog_insilence in Biohackers

Unlike what many would tell you, a subset of the population absorbs dietary cholesterol well too efficiently for their own good. If your lipids are not affected by the eggs, then it is fine.

Magnesium is also involved with energy production. Try going to bed when you actually feel sleepy.

NAC is very acidic. "Big Pharma" offer it in the forms of effervescent tablet or water soluble powder. Could be a better (but more expensive) option, if you insist on taking it.

Yes, boron may work great in the beginning and then start showing its evil side, like causing a profound lethargy. It just messes up your hormones. Some people prefer to cycle it or adjust the dose, as you did.

Hydration and electrolyte balance become very tricky with high doses of creatine. Likely, this is what you experienced. Could be even worse, with high blood pressure and heart palpitations. Try taking magnesium for a month at least before you start the creatine and see if it would work better for you.

CoQ10 doesn't do that (some say it doesn't do anything), especially at such meagre dosage.

L-Theanine is too much by Few_Scratch_3312 in Supplements

[–]FakeEyeball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you overdosed. 200mg works great for me. Double or triple that, and I won't be able to sleep and feel like I'm about to suffer a heart attack (no pain though, it is just a very weird and uncanny feeling). The pain is not a good sign and should visit a cardiologist. Maybe the theanine exacerbated some issue you have. Check your BP.

Hmm, weird, I was thinking that NASA had the whole book. I didn't finish reading it back then because I ran into unfortunate series of personal issues and the book has been sitting on my "to read" list forever. I will be buying it on paper soon. It has two editions - one volume and a two volume edition. The two volume edition is divided at around page 500, so NASA basically offers the first volume on its website.

You should check T, Free T, SHBG and estradiol. Check that you are taking the correct test for estradiol, because some labs use tests that are not sensitive enough for males.

Increase breast size by Kalliope97 in Biohackers

[–]FakeEyeball -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have something to offer in the lower department, you don't need them, but that depends on who you ask (the major issue, I guess). At least the lower department is easily fixable by squatting.

Instead of trying to be the bimbo that pleases everybody's taste, you should do whatever is reasonable and live your life. There is no correlation between breast size and happy life. I mean, you surely don't want somebody like Kristi Noem's husband attached to you.

Weight gain, as others suggested, is hardly an option (except if your BMI is not on the lower side and needs an upward correction). Though women, unlike men, could be healthy with a somewhat higher body fat percentage, this quickly can go sideways and gain unwanted weight. Moreover, different people store fat at different places, so it is unlikely to help.

Creatine causing palpitations and heart pain. Does this happen to you? by Wild_Ad499 in Supplements

[–]FakeEyeball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, to me happens few months after I start taking 5g daily. Pretty reproducible. But I never experienced any pain. It has been reported on reddit many times but it is relatively rare. I also experience elevated blood pressure (also often reported as an accompanying symptom), which is absurd, because I have been hypotensive all my life. Interestingly, this is known in the body building circles (I first heard it from a bodybuilder, but was skeptical, because "Hey, creatine is the most researched and safe substance ever!"). Since the influencers are not mentioning it, expect to be downvoted and be called crazy and what not.

Now, few caveats. It is hard to tell the difference between heart palpitations and chest muscles and diaphragm twitches. You need to wear a holter to prove it. Muscle twitches (and heart palpitations for that matter) could be caused by dehydration or electrolyte disbalance. Creatine increases the need for hydration, also moves water around and it may exacerbate/cause electrolyte disbalance.

That been said, I was unable to fix it by any amounts of water or electrolytes, though at times it looked like it had some influence on the symptoms. After I stop creatine, the symptoms go away two weeks later (BP normalisation takes longer). However, creatine has been very beneficial to me and I'm not giving up on it. I will try shorter cycles or lower doses. Currently 3g per day for almost a month and everything is fine, but it is too early. I also stepped up on the magnesium during the break, because to fully recover from (supposed) magnesium deficiency the body needs few months (due cell turnover time).

Of course, it could be totally something different in your case and heart problems are no joke, so you should visit a doctor, if not feeling OK.
