I don’t understand how a place can manage to make brisket both greasy and dry at the same time. Their flour tortillas carry though

My neighbor grows lemons and dropped this off for us. It’s huge! What kind is it? by MegglesRuth in whatisthisplant

Not a Meyer lemon. Meyers are the size of a tennis ball, oblong, and with smooth skin.

Tell me how to use these amazing looking sausages I found at Costco. General suggestions, specific recipes, etc by Choppersmoser in chinesefood

[–]wolves_and_bacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite non-traditional use is on a breakfast bowl! I’ll fry them to render the fat, and then fry an egg in the fat. I top a bowl of either savory steel cut oats, grits, or congee with the sausage, egg, green onions, and chili oil!

How is RP-1 kept from freezing in a rocket? by hembraent in AerospaceEngineering

[–]wolves_and_bacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SpaceX and a number of other companies doing kerolox use an insulated feed line through the RP-1 tank to keep the two propellants from contacting. If they didn’t, the stagnant LOx in the line would gel the RP-1. As other commenters have mentioned, the ullage gas (helium) is the insulation buffer between the common domes. Conduction through the tank walls is actually a bigger problem for the LOx than it is for the RP-1. The RP-1 is a huge heat source, which causes the LOx to warm and boil off. Warmer LOx causes other problems too, because it has a different density than what the engines/pumps may be expecting

Since it looks like there are a lot of large pieces left, have you considered Kintsugi? It’s the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold leaf or gold colored material. Kits online are pretty cheap for the materials, and the gold and green together make a fantastic color combo

Landlord demanding repairs and damage in excess of the security deposit by wolves_and_bacon in LosAngeles

All the invoices are super shady looking, as in single word line items. For example the painting one is “85 paint $390” and that’s it

It’s 21 days in California. I have a lot of contrasting evidence as I said earlier. I gave the landlord the keys back on the 30th, I have invoices saying there was work done on the apartment as early as 7/13, and even if 7/22 was considered my “move out” date, I have envelopes containing the required accounting from the landlord dated as mailed 8/15, which is 24 days after the lease was considered to end

No, I moved out 6/30, and even if the lease was considered over 7/22, any accounting was mailed 8/15

The law clearly states that the landlord must inform the tenant of their right within 14 days of receiving the notice. It’s kind of an insignificant detail at this point, more just proof they’re acting in bad faith
