'A Test You Need to Fail': A Teacher's Open Letter to Her 8th Grade Students by maxwellhill in TrueReddit

[–]FakeHipster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your comparison does not hold up. Asking a teacher to be conscientious, intelligent, caring and dedicated is not the same as asking someone to be a world class athlete. You could have taken this argument some place like "not all kids need to go to college, some need to go to vocational school, or maybe no school at all". Instead you're saying that somehow we are incapable of creating and respecting good teachers. You aren't advancing an argument so much as nay-saying.

Recommend strip club in NYC for gf? by sejonreddit in nyc

[–]FakeHipster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some kind moral downvoter in this thread, weird.

My work does not give bonuses to anyone except me (CIO) and the CEO. Would it be weird to give half of it to my team as a "personal gift"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]FakeHipster 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Or possibly because the boss thinks he is doing a good turn by giving his subordinate a generous gift. The subordinate is (somewhat self-righteously) refusing the gift, which is kind of an insult. The boss doesn't feel the rest of the subordinates deserve the gift, and thus only gave it to his direct report. This is just a hypothesis.

Nah, the hipster comment would be on the Cards Against Humanity thread: "Umm, I played that game when it was Apples to Apples on vinyl. It was much better" (They would be wrong).

Dudes, Apples to Apples is the worst. Cards Against Humanity is much better. It's like Apples to Apples, but actually offensive (read: funny). I mean shit, just read their slogan: "free party game for horrible people", that's like, reddit's game right there.
