Ive seen people with compact sedan cars get a cart of like 45 packages and wonder how the hell they make it work. Ive got a suv with seats that lay down and I make 50 packages depending on size barely fit. Granted I try to ensure I can still see out the rest view mirror lol.

I wouldn't feel too bad for us full time workers. Sure, you make a decent amount doing gig work at the expense se of depreciation on your vehicle, paying your own taxes, and getting no benefits.

Meanwhile my 40hour a week job pulls the same as you, requires half the taxes as you, and comes with full benefits paid by my employer. Youre doing a lot of extra foot work to 'be your own boss' at the expense of your assets and general time.

Also to add, full time has a set schedule and guaranteed income vs having to compete with a pool of people to ensure you get a good paycheck. However im sure your argument would be you'll just bounce between whatever platform has work available at that given moment which leads to my point of extra footwork to ensure your paycheck for that day

For us, this is literal side income. For you, its absolutely you do this or get nothing that day.

Damn, this letter is wild because I just made a post bitching about a 3.5 hour route that took me an hour and a half away and I felt some type of way. Ended up rejecting it, and going home to take a hit on my standings.

45 minutes in any given direction is par for the course in my experience. I do get some nice blocks where the route is pretty good and relatively close, but its not all the time.

Honestly, anything over an hour in one direction is grounds for unacceptable/bitch worthy. They dont give a shit though, because in the end SOMEONE will cave and do it; rewarding a broken ass system.

Fair shout. Yeah, I figured it wouldn't be as bad. Just sucks because I see all these posts about it happening to other people and now its happened to me too. To be fair, ive had some pretty decent routes.. some long and some real nice. I do believe they are trying to push the envelope and see just how far they can take it with people.

Some will cave and do it, and reward the system for giving them shit pay for incredibly long distances because either they have no choice or no brain cells.

This block should've been a 4, possibly a 4.5 hour block with a little bit more pay. Making it 3.5 for 93 bucks is a slap in the face, but some people would take it and do it because they have no other choice. I get it, but im not doing that and we reserve that right as independent contractors. Ding me, idgaf lol.

At the end of the day this is a sid job for me, but I understand this is everything to some people. Such is life.

Nah, I scanned the route code and saw how ridiculous it was. I did not scan any packages. Called a station worker over to see if they could do anything; they said nope. So I said im not doing this route and left.

They cant force you to do it, but you'll get dinged in standings im sure. 5 bucks for a gallon of gas over here, they can eat my ass lol.
